IR-cut filters for photo lenses are pretty expensive. I didn't want to buy one for this junk project. Eventually I got this heat shielding glass from an old slide projector. In the projector this glass reduces the heat of the lamp to prevent burning the film material, so it's basically an IR filter. It's not perfect but the colors look much better now.
When it's hot, you figure out a way to be less hot. This chap peddles with one hand on an umbrella. Near Baclaran Market.
One part of Nolan's shin guard was not to be found (most likely it is hiding in his locker at school). We improvised with duct tape - which worked well, but was a pain to get off! A nice soak in warm water, soap, and application of lotion a couple of times later seemed to do the trick.
A crowd of men suddenly swarmed around this girl. I was having a hard time taking a shot at her because of the old men pushing me around. So, I had to improvise.

I wanted to take some photos today (trying out my brand new Nikon D3200), so I went looking for a subject I hadn't photographed yet. I've shot spring flowers a dozen times, but never my dad's old 8N tractor. It's 62 years old, but he still uses it on a regular basis. It once belonged to his father (my grandfather, whom I barely remember as a crew cut old man sitting in an easy chair), and it has memories embedded in every greasy crack and pore. If farm equipment could talk, this piece would have stories to tell.
Tank engine 63095 shunts coal wagons and to help it through he day has an improvised coal tender itself. Quite a nifty bit of modelling.

Two cd's glued together with some velcro'ed textile band.
I came up with a very improvised but also a very quick and easy Quadra headcover.
Made with stuff most people will have laying around.
I glued two CD's together with two strips of fabric in between. The fabric has Velcro on one side
( I actually used the fasteners that came with the PLM's)
I already had velcro on the Quadra reflector, I use that to attach gels.
