Lowell, Massachusetts, USA. This is one of my finds from a recent exploration of a corner of the city. He is not a gymnast. He probably does this because it relaxes him.
There are 25 kittens at the rescue centre at the moment and I spent much of yesterday afternoon underneath many of them! It's a tough job, but someone has to do it. :))
This little one is part of a family of 6, who are all equally gorgeous and, even better, they're very human oriented. They were brought in as an 'unwanted litter'. Sadly, despite all the advice and education, there are still those who don't have their cats neutered. These beautiful kittens will have no trouble finding new homes, of course.
They have lots of toys in their unit, but they weren't very interested in those. This box was much more popular because they could sit on it, hide in it and ambush each other. I do wonder sometimes why we waste our money on toys when a box or a bit of string with knots in it are often much more popular. :)

This little wax eye was being chased off the bird feeder by larger wax eyes. I had just feed our Burmese cat so enlisted the empty can to set up a syrup feeder away from the main feeder. Great to see it enjoyed a hassle free feed.

Earlier today I bought a bunch strawberries because they were on special, but when I was back at home again and started putting away my groceries, I saw that about half of them were on the verge of getting squishy already.
I wanted to use these up immediately, so enter the improvised strawberry tiramisu dessert. I guess the only thing that it's got in common with real tiramisu is that it has layers and some alcohol in it, but that's about it.
Instead of mascarpone it features quark mixed with a little bit of crème fraîche that was left over from yesterday's cooking.
Half of the strawberries were chopped up and added to the quark, the other half I blended up with a little bit of sugar.
The ladyfingers were drizzled with a vodka-based strawberry lime liqueur because I still had some of that in the fridge.
I don't have any fancy dessert bowls which is why I used ordinary drinking glasses instead. They're now in the fridge so that the tiramisu portions can firm up a bit before eating.
