The Pointe du Raz is a promontory that extends into the Atlantic from western Brittany, in France. The local Breton name is Beg ar Raz. It is the western point of the commune of Plogoff, Finistère.
It is named after the Raz de Sein, the dangerous stretch of water between it and the island of Sein (Enez Sun in Breton). It is a dramatic place of crashing waves and strong winds. It also marks the western end of the 3,200km E5 European long distance path to Verona in Italy.
The lighthouse of "La Vieille" is clearly visible from the rocks.
Although it is not quite the westernmost extent of France (that would be Pointe de Corsen, just to the north), its rocky isolation makes it a popular tourist destination, (comparable in some ways to Land's End in the southern UK).
Pointe du Raz is een kaap aan de Finistère, regio Bretagne. Deze kaap is 72 meter hoog en steekt ver in zee. Het is mede met de Pointe Saint-Mathieu de verst uitstekende westelijke kaap van Bretagne en Frankrijk.
Ten noorden hiervan, ligt de Pointe du Van, met daartussen, de brede Baie des Trépassés. Vanuit Audierne en via Plogoff, is deze mooie natuurkaap te bereiken. Bijzonder bij ruwe weersomstandigheden is de golfspeling, die tegen de klippen en de granietrotsen te pletter beuken, spectaculair. Dit kan men meemaken vanuit een uitkijkplaats. Maar bij kalmer weer slaan de golven nog hard tegen de rotsen, en kan men met behulp van een verrekijker, de duizenden zeevogels observeren, zonder veel last te hebben van de stormwind anderzijds.
In de buurt van de Pointe du Raz, ligt de kleine haven Bestrée, van waaruit men in de zomer een boottocht van 60 km kan maken, met inbegrip naar het Île de Sein, in het Bretons Enez Sun, dat op een afstand van 13 km vóór de kaap ligt.

IMPORTANT NOTES: Gloria playsets have been sold over the span of many years (some were available in the early 2000s, and are still produced in the 2020s). Due to the cheap, mass scale of production, there are often many missing accessories or incorrect ones included in the packages.
PERSONAL FUN FACT written by my sister: Like all our other Gloria playsets so far, this definitely appears to have originated in the 90s--the clothing styles sort of give that away. Funnily enough, I believe they are still cranking these out--which isn't a bad thing at all. I'm glad these are so mass produced because it made it easy for us to buy them in bulk in 2021. The lettering and set up of this is very fancy, compared to the fireplace packaging that seems really stripped down. I love how there's a Stacie-sized clone doll toward the center. I know it's not Kid Kore Katie--I know her profile so well that I can tell this isn't my favorite girl even in a blurry side shot. However, from a distance, I can pretend it's an early 90s Katie (similar wardrobe and she's similar from a distance). Anyway, the box makes this look 100% appealing and buyable. I mean, when we sat down and decided it was "finally" (it took us a month from when Shelly realized these existed and were very affordable to buy them, but it felt like a long time) time to actually buy Gloria playsets, this was 100% on the "we're getting it" list--no disputes, no questions asked. I mean, it wasn't even really open for discussion. It was happening. Anyway, it looks VERY appealing on the box but it is EVEN CUTER in person. So, this packaging, while perfectly suitable/admirable, just does NOT do justice to this glorious Gloria playset!
Cowdray Heritage is one of England’s most important early Tudor houses and is known to have been visited by both King Henry VIII and Queen Elizabeth I. In September 1793, whilst undergoing repairs and refurbishments for the impending marriage of the 8th Viscount Montague, a devastating fire took hold and most of the property was destroyed. The Kitchen Tower is the only part of the mansion to remain intact.
The magnificent ruins are set in the stunning landscape of Cowdray Park, in the heart of the South Downs National Park. Explore the Tudor Kitchen, Buck Hall, Chapel and Gatehouse.
Since 1793 it largely remained untouched however the 1st Viscount Cowdray commissioned a restoration project between 1909-1914 when St John Hope was asked to report on Cowdray, Easebourne Priory and St Anne’s Hill.
This work is generally credited with having saved the Cowdray ruins from total collapse. Nevertheless this period of desertion ensured that the features that remained of this important Tudor building were untouched and consequently give us today a unique glimpse of many important features of Tudor architecture which would otherwise have been lost.

An important ritual for the Papuan Dani people in the Baliem Valley (main town Wamena) is the pig festival. In some cases used traditionally in peacemaking, it is now a broader cultural festival. This was my second time in Wamena and my second experience of a Dani festival.
We arrived on foot to the Dani village. En route we were treated to ritual battle and hunting demonstrations, and then entered the village itself. Here the village women waited to weclome us and and we caught our first sight of the pig. We had paid for the pig and would share the meat with the village.
One of the male hunters killed the pig with an arrow. The animal was butchered in the open area between the huts - a man teaching a young boy the cuts - and a fire pit was dug. The fire pit was filled with hot rocks, herbs, sweet potatoes and the meat and while we waited for the food to cook / bake we enjoyed seeing more of the Dani.
On my first visit to the Dani, the pig festival had been a happy event, and the villagers had obviously enjoyed themselves as much as we had. This time some mere more subdued and I learned that a villager (I believe a child) had recently died and that the village was still grieving. Had we known of this before arriving, we might have been able to bring something appropriate in addition to the pig itself. Once we were there, the language gap prevented us from doing anything other than expressing formal condolences.
Two years earlier, in another part of Indonesian West Papua, we had come to an Asmat village which was also in mourning and we were requested to return a few days later. Here with the Dani, there was no such request and we were welcomed. Nevertheless, when I look back at some of he photos, I wonder whether some of the villagers would have preferred more time to grieve.

Main story
There are two reasons why a person faces the sea.
One to enjoy a slice of shine in the sea like children bubbling over in the beach.
The other to brush the dust of memory like an old man who misses old days staring at the shine
quietly.
Those lead to only one meaning though they do not seem to overlap. It’s a rebirth.
I face myself to change tomorrow a vague day into something certain.
That is the meaning of a rebirth.
I had a very sweet girlfriend when I was 18.
After she left I knew the meaning of gentleness for the first time and also a true pain of loss. After
she left # how many times did I depend too much on her # doubt her # envy her and keep on telling lies
until I realized it is love?
I wonder whether a nobody like me could have given something to her who was struggling in the
daily life in those days. Giving something is arrogant conceit. It is nothing but self-satisfaction.
I had been thinking about such a thing.
However I guess what she saw in me was because I had nothing. That‘s why she tried to see
something in me. Perhaps she found a slight possibility in me # a guy filled with ambiguous unstable
tomorrow. But I wasted days depending too much on her gentleness.
Now I finally can convey how I felt in those days when we met.

あらすじ
大学を目指している北見ケイは、SNS上で、6歳年上のイベントコンパニオン、上村香織に出会う。
上京してきた香織の夢は、有名なアーティストの友達になるためだ。
そのためにはラジオ局のプロデューサー、大沢亮の存在が必要だった。
大沢は、ラジオの生放送中、香織へ語りかける。
「僕には妻子がある。しかし、僕は君に会いたいと思っている」
ケイの同級生で、彼を想っている三條里香は、香織の動向を探っていた。。。。。
本編
人が海へ向かう理由には、二つある。
ひとつは、波打ち際ではしゃぐ子供のように、今の瞬間の海の輝きを楽しむこと。
もうひとつは、その輝きを静かに見据えて、過ぎ去った日々を懐かしむ老人のように記憶の埃を払うこと。
二つは重なり合わないようではあるけれども、たったひとつの意味しか生まない。
再生だ。
明日っていう、曖昧な日を確実なものへと変えてゆくために、自分の存在に向き合う。
それが再生の意味だ。
十八歳だった僕には大切な人がいた。

Main story
There are two reasons why a person faces the sea.
One to enjoy a slice of shine in the sea like children bubbling over in the beach.
The other to brush the dust of memory like an old man who misses old days staring at the shine
quietly.
Those lead to only one meaning though they do not seem to overlap. It’s a rebirth.
I face myself to change tomorrow a vague day into something certain.
That is the meaning of a rebirth.
I had a very sweet girlfriend when I was 18.
After she left I knew the meaning of gentleness for the first time and also a true pain of loss. After
she left # how many times did I depend too much on her # doubt her # envy her and keep on telling lies
until I realized it is love?
I wonder whether a nobody like me could have given something to her who was struggling in the
daily life in those days. Giving something is arrogant conceit. It is nothing but self-satisfaction.
I had been thinking about such a thing.
However I guess what she saw in me was because I had nothing. That‘s why she tried to see
something in me. Perhaps she found a slight possibility in me # a guy filled with ambiguous unstable
tomorrow. But I wasted days depending too much on her gentleness.
Now I finally can convey how I felt in those days when we met.

あらすじ
大学を目指している北見ケイは、SNS上で、6歳年上のイベントコンパニオン、上村香織に出会う。
上京してきた香織の夢は、有名なアーティストの友達になるためだ。
そのためにはラジオ局のプロデューサー、大沢亮の存在が必要だった。
大沢は、ラジオの生放送中、香織へ語りかける。
「僕には妻子がある。しかし、僕は君に会いたいと思っている」
ケイの同級生で、彼を想っている三條里香は、香織の動向を探っていた。。。。。
本編
人が海へ向かう理由には、二つある。
ひとつは、波打ち際ではしゃぐ子供のように、今の瞬間の海の輝きを楽しむこと。
もうひとつは、その輝きを静かに見据えて、過ぎ去った日々を懐かしむ老人のように記憶の埃を払うこと。
二つは重なり合わないようではあるけれども、たったひとつの意味しか生まない。
再生だ。
明日っていう、曖昧な日を確実なものへと変えてゆくために、自分の存在に向き合う。
それが再生の意味だ。
十八歳だった僕には大切な人がいた。

Fur Traders
The large Native American population at the Flat River made this area important to fur traders. French & American traders came to this area to trade in the winter, returning to Mackinac Island & Detroit in the summers.
The LaFramboise Post was the earliest known post near the Flat River. Joseph LaFramboise traded on the Grand River as early as 1783. He establised a post here in 1796, the same year that he married Magdelaine Marcotte, a Franch-Indian woman. After Joseph was killed in 1806, his wife (known as Madame LaFramboise continued his business, becoming Michigan's first businesswoman. She worked as an independent trader until 1818, when she became an agent for the powerful Mackinac based American Fur Company owned by John Jacob Astor. The Company records show her to have earned as much as $10,000 a year. The precise location of this post is unknown. In 1821, Madame LaFramboise retired to her home on Mackinac Island.
Seventeen-year-old Daniel arrived in 1829 to begin trading. In 1831, he built a log trading post which he operated until 1846. John Hooker purchased & continued to operate the Marsac Post from 1846 until the Indians relocated to Oceana County in 1857. Hooker was also an Indian Enumerator. His job was to take a census of the Indians each year so that the annual treaty payments paid out in Grand Rapids were fair to all.

"The Church of St. Bartholomew, also called St. Bartholomew's Church, is an important Gothic sacral building located in Kolín. It was built in the second half of the thirteenth century in early Gothic style. A nave with a pair of octagonal western towers survived from this construction phase. In the fourteenth century, a completely new, tall, "cathedral" choir with a crown of chapels was built by Petr Parléř. At the beginning of the 16th century, a bell tower was added. The church is on the list of national cultural monuments.
Kolín (German: Kolin, Köllein, Collin) is a city in the Kolín district in the east of the Central Bohemian Region, located on the Elbe River. It is also a municipality with extended jurisdiction. It has approximately 33 thousand inhabitants and has an area of 35 km² with an average altitude of 220 meters. It lies about 60 km east of Prague on both banks of the Elbe.
Kolín was probably founded before 1261 by Přemysl Otakar II, the well-preserved historic core is protected as a city monument reserve. In 1845, Kolín was connected to an important railway between Prague and Olomouc, this fact is very important for the further prosperity of the city, and from the second half of the 19th century the city underwent rapid industrialization.
Kolín is an important railway junction. The chemical, automotive, engineering, food, printing and metallurgical industries are represented here.
In honor of the local music composer František Kmoch, the Kmochův Kolín International Brass Music Festival takes place in Kolín, and the work of the photographer Jaromír Funke is commemorated by the Funke Kolín Photography Festival.
Bohemia (Latin Bohemia, German Böhmen, Polish Czechy) is a region in the west of the Czech Republic. Previously, as a kingdom, they were the center of the Czech Crown. The root of the word Czech probably corresponds to the meaning of man. The Latin equivalent of Bohemia, originally Boiohaemum (literally "land of Battles"), which over time also influenced the names in other languages, is derived from the Celtic tribe of the Boios, who lived in this area from the 4th to the 1st century BC Bohemia on it borders Germany in the west, Austria in the south, Moravia in the east and Poland in the north. Geographically, they are bounded from the north, west and south by a chain of mountains, the highest of which are the Krkonoše Mountains, in which the highest mountain of Bohemia, Sněžka, is also located. In the Hispano-Muslim houses, the courtyard is vitally important. It is the core of family life, around which all the other rooms are distributed. It is difficult to distinguish the wealth of a family by looking at the external part of a house or palace, as opposed to its courtyard.

Originally these green areas were placed lower and with a greater variety of short trees to prevent their tops from rising too much.
The Pool plays an important part in the architectural and aesthetic definition of the site, with its surface of water that acts as a mirror and reflects the surrounding structures, generating a geometrical projection that breaks the structural horizontal lines of the place.
