Tharparkar has been hit by severe dry weather and water shortage and Alkhidmat Foundation Pakistan is determined to improve the condition by the implementation of various water projects like community hand pumps, submersible water pump and solar- powered water in this region. Recently, we have installed a new Submersible Water Pump at Village Senhar Vikia, District Tharparkar. This water project is expected to deliver clean water for drinking and domestic usage to nearly 33 families living in this village.

The scene behind this mining implement is actually a glacier! The main body of the glacier, high in the mountains, moves about 100 feet per year, grinding off chunks of the mountains as it passes through. The rubble is deposited on the surface of the icy glacier, hidden beneath. AND...if you look carefully, you can see a perfectly round tunnel behind and a little to the right of center of the 'implelment'. We were told by a couple of fellows who hiked out to it, that it is a natural ice bridge or tunnel, but not formed by water flowing through it.

1.) Operators Manual for Model "100" Self-Propelled All Crop Harvester 54 pages. Form TM-86A. Thought to be from 1955. From the foreword: "This new machine, the Model "100" is a large, self-propelled unit. Like it's pull-type companion, the 6ft. Model "66", this new self-propelled Model "100" is truly another ALL-CROP Harvester, in all the name has come to mean.
The cover is dirty and somewhat warn at the spine with the normal fly specks from being in a shop and greasy fingers.

2.) Operating instructions and parts illustrations No. 4 Subsoiler (Mounted) (Manufactured by Athens Plow Co.) Form TM-141. From the Foreword: "This book provides setting up instructions and essential information regarding Operation, Adjustments, etc., of your new implement. Close adherence to these instructions will result in successful performance and longer operation life for your equipment."
The front and back covers are in like new condition with very little wear and very few finger prints.

3.) Operating instructions and repair parts illustrations Bale Loader Form TM-57. This 26 page manual is complete and in very good shape with few fingerprints, fly specks and very little wear.

4.) Operating instructions and parts illustrations "Roto-Baler" Built by Allis-Chalmers Mfg. Co. 46 pages. Form TM-119. Serial 68402 and up. This manual has a good bit of wear. the cover has a tear on the front right and the page edges has a good amount of wear. The back cover is dirty and worn a bit. The Delivery records have all been torn out.

Inside there are lots of great photographs, illustrations and part illustrations.
I'm not entirely sure what these curious things are. I'm pretty sure they are useful for moviemaking. How, I don't know.
But they looked cool. :)
GLOBAL CRISIS, LOCAL SOLUTIONS: HOW TO REVOLUTIONIZE AND IMPLEMENT COMMUNITY-BASED MENTAL HEALTH CARE
Globally, the ripple effects from the COVID-19 pandemic, increasing forced migration, and a rise in human rights violations have accelerated the mental health crisis. This crisis is only expected to worsen, and providing care to those affected will become even harder. The WHO projects a deficit of 10 million health care professionals worldwide by 2030. Luckily, many communities across the globe are stepping up to the plate to increase access to care; however, this is just one of the hurdles we face. Community stigma, economic mobility, and gender are all contributing factors that must be addressed through locally sustainable treatment options. From partnerships between community stakeholders and medical professionals, to unlikely community and school interventions, it will take all of us to find solutions that ultimately lead to a healthier global community.

China, as the leading promoter of the “one belt, one road” initiative, must take steps to ensure that businesses act responsibly. At the same time, China should implement a well-designed training program that provides officials at all levels of government and entrepreneurs with basic information about operating abroad. And it should do more to spur the involvement of Hong Kong – which possesses major advantages in finance and logistics, information accessibility, talent recruitment, and implementation of the rule of law – in the initiative. Last but not the least, the central government needs to strengthen the guidance of crisis management and exit strategies.
Realizing the “one belt, one road” initiative will not be easy. But China has all of the tools it needs to succeed. As long as it uses them in a way that is clean, green, and transparent, China and its neighbors will reap vast rewards.

Implemented by UNDP, the RFS Nigeria project aims to foster sustainability and resilience for food security in Northern Nigeria through addressing key environmental and socioeconomic drivers of food insecurity.
Building on the ‘Ecosystem Landscaping to advance the Accountability to implement the Women’s Empowerment Principles in ASEAN’, the WeEmpowerAsia programme, UN women jointly develops and will disseminate the Building Pathways to Gender Equality and Sustainability through the Women's Empowerment Principles: Thailand Policy Brief (hereafter referred as ‘Thailand Policy Brief’) with key partners, namely the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) and the Office of SMEs Promotion (OSMEP).
Gender Responsive Procurement (GRP) is one of the initiatives recommended in the Thailand Policy Brief. GRP can identify, incorporate and support women business owners seeking to access government/corporate procurement contracts. In support of the initiative, UN Women and Kenan Foundation Asia will host the “IDEA to I do”, a business presentation competition for selected women entrepreneurs, to showcase the capacity of WOB and WLB developed under WeEmpowerAsia Programme as means to promote women’s participation in supply chain. Winners will receive the WeRise Awards and the prizes are comprised of one winner, one first runner-up and one second runner-up.

Prosperidad Social implementará convenios con organizaciones sociales y juntas de acción comunal (JAC) para los proyectos de infraestructura social y hábitat, que financia y ejecuta en los municipios más pobres del país. La directora de la entidad, Cielo Rusinque Urrego, lo anunció este viernes en el Congreso Nacional de Municipios, organizado por la Federación Nacional de Municipios en Cartagena de Indias.
“Tenemos capacidad legal para hacer estos convenios solidarios, en compañía con el ente territorial. Acompañaremos técnicamente lo que requieran, de acuerdo con la complejidad de las obras y la capacidad que haya en el territorio. Vincular a estas organizaciones beneficiará la economía popular y garantizará la participación de la comunidad”, explicó. Recordó que el Gobierno Nacional pretende fortalecer a las organizaciones sociales y comunitarias y fomentar su participación en los procesos de desarrollo territorial.
Las JAC integrarán el comité que seleccionará los proyectos de infraestructura. Serán priorizados de acuerdo con una clasificación que cruza criterios, entre esos, los índices de desnutrición, riesgo de victimización y pobreza multidimensional. El comité estará conformado por representantes de las JAC, el Ministerio de la Igualdad, la Consejería de Regiones, el ICBF, la Unidad para las Víctimas y Prosperidad Social.
La entidad tiene 500.000 millones de pesos destinados a la ejecución de obras de infraestructura social y hábitat durante este año. “100.000 millones de pesos están destinados a la subsanación de los proyectos pendientes de vigencias anteriores. El resto están destinados a obras en territorios que podamos apoyar, de acuerdo con las necesidades y con la aplicación del enfoque diferencial territorial”, informó Rusinque.
En el escenario del congreso de alcaldes, el subdirector de Programas y Proyectos de la entidad, Carlos Chinchilla, y el director de infraestructura, Eduardo Mesa, atendieron a alcaldes de municipios en los que hay proyectos suspendidos de vigencias anteriores, para acordar la realización de las mesas técnicas en las que revisarán la posibilidad de agilizarlos.
Desde noviembre pasado, la entidad organiza estas mesas técnicas para revisar la viabilidad de los proyectos de infraestructura social con mayor impacto en las condiciones de las poblaciones más vulnerables: con mayor incidencia de hambre y pobreza, y riesgos o consecuencias por el invierno. Desde entonces, ha logrado destrabar cerca de setenta obras en más de sesenta municipios del país. Algunas de estas obras fueron entregadas este mes durante una jornada nacional.
“Recibimos una ejecución del presupuesto del 5 %. En pocos meses, al finalizar el año, la llevamos a la ejecución de más del 75 %, mediante el acompañamiento en mesas técnicas para viabilizar y ejecutar los proyectos”, recordó Rusinque este viernes.

Part of the National Park System, this monument commemorates passage of the Homestead Act of 1862 which allowed any qualified person to claim up to 160 acres of federally owned land in exchange for five years of residence and the cultivation and improvement of the property. The park is near Beatrice, Nebraska on some of the first acres successfully claimed under the Homestead Act.
