This past week when i watched Lileigh and “arkman”, she mentioned to me to look at his hair. Then went and told him to come see me and show me his hair. He came out and stood there staring at me....finally he said “Look at my hair.” i looked and asked what was wrong with it, and she piped up and said “He got a haircut!” Actually he got a haircut before heading to Cancun for vacation....but i told him he looked very handsome, and he smiled and went back to his toys. I asked Lileigh about her hair and first she told me she also got it cut....but then said “Only kidding....but i want a haircut.” i told her that her hair was perfect and she didn’t quite need one yet. She made a vague reference to cutting her own hair...but i reminded her that scissors are for paper....and that seemed to settle it!
Today i got a call from my daughter....could i take “arkman” after she picked Lileigh up from preschool....it seems she had to make a hair appointment to FIX someones attempt to give herself “bangs”!!!! i got a big chuckle out of that...the apple does not fall far from the tree as they say....except that her mama cut her SISTER’s bangs for her when she was about a year younger!!! (Truthfully i think Lileigh would have gladly given “arkman” a haircut...but he moves at the speed of light and she probably could not catch him still long enough!!!)
Heading into the weekend!! Hope it is a wonderful one and that the dang air quality improves here so i can breathe without being snarfly and scratchy/ My car was SO green with pollen that i could not see out the windows and i broke down and went to the car wash only to have it green again when i woke this morning!
PS....she looks adorable with bangs!!!! LOL!!
The Imps motor cycle display team at the Gillingham and Shaftesbury Show 2018. The children are from the East End of London and age range 6 - 16, they put on an impressive display.

The coupe variants of these vehicles were sold as the Hillman Imp Californian, the Sunbeam Stiletto and the Singer Chamois Coupe. Not sure of this one's roots.

The Hillman Imp was built from 1963 until 1976. In most Western-European countries the Sunbeam brand was used instead of Hillman. The car had its engine in te rear. Interesting is the opening rear hatch to allow luggage to be put into the back seat rest.
In blue is the Hillman Imp, Corgi Toys No 251 made from 1963 to 1969 and the Police car is No 506, Sunbeam Imp Police Car made from 1968 to 1972.
Both come with an opening rear window and folding rear seats operated by the back wheels when the car is pushed down.
The Police car also has glow in the dark Police signs on the doors, jewel headlights and a uniformed driver.
This was my first car; a 74 Hillman Imp. It was made in Scotland as a less successful contemporary to the original Mini.
I was just out of university in 91 and had no real job or money yet but I needed a car. I found this car in the local paper for a couple of hundred pounds. At first I was unexcited about it (my dream car at the time, like every boy-racer, was a Golf GTi) but I quickly grew to love its quirkiness. It had a tiny engine in the back that drove the rear wheels; as a result the front would get very light under 'enthusiastic' driving to the point that you could hardly steer when you were going fast down hill. To compensate I used to carry a huge bag of sand in the front trunk to try to keep the front wheels grounded. The fuel pump was mounted on the top of the engine, which meant on a hot day and a long trip it would get very hot - if you stopped for gas it was so hot all the petrol would evaporate out of it so you would have to pour water over it to cool it down before you could get going again.
I grew to love this car. It was cheap, simple motoring. It taught me a lot about mechanics as I had to fix it myself when it frequently broke down (I never went anywhere without my toolbox, a gallon of water and a can of oil in the back). I was heart broken when it failed the MoT due to rust after 2 and a half years. It sat in my back yard for a while as I threatened to fix it but never had the time. Eventually, my brother and I broke it down for parts.

Dawid Laas flying his privately owned ex SAAF ZU-IMP 479 Atlas Impala Aermacchi MB-326M at Waterkloof AFB during the annual AAD Expo Aerospace and Defence Airshow. The weather was terrible and thus dull light so I took to doing more environmental interest images rather than dull grey sky aerial shots. The BG is the Airfield Tower and there is a captured tank below adding interest. ZU-IMP is hangared at Lanseria Airfield up the road from me at Elite Jet
The Pretoria Rekord newspaper approached me to use this image (uncropped) amongst others and they were published Friday 27th September 2012. More images of the day and the newspaper PDF's at my website.
Hopefully anyone who has used a slow s/s (in this case 1/125s) and hand panned a jet aircraft (and kept it sharp) will appreciate this image especially the perfectly flat horizontal lines. This was an individual click as she flew past and NOT part of a high FPS hold finger on button and hope for the best then choose one image :)

The Imp class of light cargo freighters was produced by the Corellian Engineering Corporation. The base freighter design, like many CEC ships, was modular and came with many options. The 'Besther' model, named for the project lead, featured individualized cargo pods which could be customized to accommodate specific needs.
The Besther Imp XIV was made in the first production run and has faired decently in its 34 years of service. Many non-essential systems no longer function well or at all, and it's space-worthiness is in doubt, but it works well as a planetside-only cargo transport.

The Lucasarts game "1313" was shaping up to be a brand new style of game for the Star Wars brand and a fantastic look at another side of the SW universe. Unfortunately, when Disney bought Lucasfilm they shuttered the Lucasarts game department. While not official, 1313 appears to have been effectively cancelled.
For SHIPtember I decided to pay tribute to what could have been. This ship features prominently in the trailer/demo video for the game, and appears to represent the opening act of the game.
While simple in shape, the detachable cargo pods were what first intrigued me enough to start this project. The ship is, to my best estimate, full minifigure scale. Though similar in looks, this ship would actually be dwarfed by the nearly four-times longer Tantive IV.
The full size of this model is 131.3 studs long, 42 studs wide, and 19 bricks tall. It took two weeks to create, start to finish.
