Die Bahnstrecke von Messina nach Catania verläuft fast immer in Sichtweite des Meeres und führt dabei an zahllosen malerischen Urlaubsorten vorbei. E656 040 zieht IC 721 nach Catania entlang der Straße von Messina. Am anderen Ufer ist bereits die calabrische Küste und damit das italienische Festland zu sehen.
"Mamas Garten" hat immer wieder kleine Ãœberraschungen parat. Wenn das Licht passt, ist es schwer, die Kamera im Rucksack zu lassen.
"Mama's garden" always has some surprises. If the light fits, it is difficult to leave the camera in the backpack.

The great northern diver is a large water bird, which is mostly a winter visitor to the UK. Great northern divers breed in Greenland, Iceland and North America, where they're called common loons. There have been occasional records of them breeding in Scotland, but these are very rare.
They breed on large woodland lakes or pools on tundra, with the male and female working together to build the nest on an island or shoreline. They're excellent swimmers, using their large feet to chase after small fish under the water.
Great northern divers usually spend the winter on the sea, favouring shallow areas close to shore. They can sometimes be seen migrating along the coast singly or in small flocks.
Divers look a little bit like cormorants, swimming with their large bodies low in the water and their long neck held upright. The great northern diver is a hefty bird, with a thick neck and a large, heavy bill. They often look as if they have a big bump on the forehead.
In their winter plumage, adults have a plain black back, neck and head, with a white throat and belly, and a darker half-collar at the base of the neck. In their summer breeding plumage, they have a dark black head and neck with a black-and-white-striped patch on the side of the neck, and a black back with a white chequered pattern.
In winter, great northern divers can most often be found off the coast of Scotland, northern, eastern and south-west England, Wales, and Northern Ireland. They can sometimes be found on inland lakes and reservoirs.

SNCF BB 8198 befördert im Abendlicht einen langen Autozug nach Süden und passiert dabei die Ortschaft Vérin (42).
This Common Loon was taken at Lighthouse Park in Point Roberts, WA. I lay on the beach as he swam on by.
There were also many other good birds out including Red-breasted Mergansers displaying and Common Loons and Red-necked grebes in breeding plumage. There were also Harlequins, Buffleheads, Brant and Pelagic cormorants, Surf Scoters, Bald Eagles, Barn Swallows, American Goldfinches and Savannah Sparrows, 150 Brant geese and sea lions! A great day to be birding at the beach on Earth Day!
Immer noch brav ihren Dienst versieht die Siemens Baureihe 189. Hier ziehen Lokomotion ( RTC Rail Traction Company ) 189.903 und 189.907 ihren Autotransporterzug an Kirchbichl vorbei Richtung Brenner / Brennero am 18.06.2025

Depuis plusieurs heures que je l'observais, j'étais congelée malgré mes vêtements chauds. Mes doigts gelés peinaient à appuyer sur le déclencheur...c'est cet instant qu'il choisit pour s'approcher et me gratifier d'une splendide toilette:-)
Malgré l'éloignement et des conditions dignes d'un pays nordique, je pus subtiliser ce bref instant

Die Marktkirche Unser Lieben Frauen, auch Marienkirche genannt, ist die jüngste der mittelalterlichen Kirchen der Stadt Halle (Saale) und zählt zu den bedeutendsten Bauten der Spätgotik in Mitteldeutschland. Ihre vier Türme bilden zusammen mit dem Roten Turm das Wahrzeichen der Saalestadt, der Stadt der fünf Türme. Die Kirche feierte im Jahr 2004 ihr 450-jähriges Bestehen.
Die Marktkirche entstand zwischen 1529 und 1554 aus den jahrhundertealten Vorgängerkirchen St. Gertruden und St. Marien.
Luther selbst predigte in der Marktkirche in den Jahren 1545 und 1546 dreimal.
Auf der Reichel-Orgel, die eine der ältesten in Mitteldeutschland ist, erlernte bereits der junge Georg Friedrich Händel das Orgelspiel. 1685 wurde Händel in der Marktkirche getauft, später übernahm er eine Organistenstelle im Halleschen Dom.
The Marktkirche Unser Lieben Frauen ("Market Church of Our Dear Lady") is a church in the centre of the city of Halle, Saxony-Anhalt, Germany. It was built between 1529 and 1554 and is the most recent of the city's medieval churches.
The church replaced two former churches in the market area, their towers were integrated into the new building. The Market Church is considered one of the most important buildings of the late Gothic period in central Germany. Its four towers, together with the Red Tower, are the landmark of the city, hence its nickname "Stadt der fünf Türme" (City of the Five Towers).
Justus Jonas introduced the Reformation into Halle, and his friend Martin Luther preached in the church. George Frideric Handel was baptized here and received his first organ lessons. Johann Sebastian Bach inspected the new organ, and his son Wilhelm Friedemann Bach was an organist.
An einem kühlen Ferientag im Jahre 2020 wurde vor der Arbeit noch einmal die Zeit genutzt die Umläufe der KT4D's im Netz der Verkehrs- und Betriebsgesellschaft Gera (Gvb) zu fotografieren. 314 mit Schwesterwagen 360 fahren in gemütlichen Tempo der nächsten Haltestelle, Fußgängerbrücke entgegen. Hier zeigen sich die beiden äußerlich schön gepflegten Wagen vor der Kulisse des Stadtteils Gera-Lusan.

es ist wohl einfach noch zu kalt.
Nur ein paar Kleinlibellen haben Rita und ich im BoGa gefunden, die meisten gerade erst am Sonntag geschlüpft und noch nicht ausgefärbt.
Andere - wie die Hufeisen-Azurjungfer - versteckten sich bei leicht windigem Wetter hinter den Blättern. Gefunden haben wir sie trotzdem ;)

Ein Schwarzweiß-Foto, das ich mit der Contax Tix auf dem obersten Stockwerk (Gastronomie-Ebene) des Atlantic Hotel Heidelberg geschossen habe. Dieses erst vor kurzem eröffnete Hotel findet man in der Heidelberger Bahnstadt gleich neben dem Hauptbahnhof.
Der Film war natürlich immer noch der Kodak Advantix B/W 400, abgelaufen 08/2003.
