My cousin, Frank, again, who acts under the name Frank Aard. This time, his new haircut and his bowler hat, from his ridiculously large hat collection, suggested a quick Stan Laurel impression. We didn't play with it to the extent we could have, but it did fuel some digital tweaking, once I got it into Adobe's Photoshop CS2. Layers, layers and More layers... then I'm possessed, eh?
I grew special chilis now, if it is too hot just press the emergency button. :D

My first background created using Daz 3D. This is preparatory to a studio shoot I have coming in a couple of weeks where I want some nice grungy rooms and exteriors for my backdrops. Now, thanks to Daz 3D. I can make my own sets :)

Some promo work for a musical duo 'Fusion'. Sarah and Steve can cater for pretty much all musical tastes, so we are working on a 'gritty' rock music theme and also on a more gentle generic look.
This is one of the first samples out of the gate. As ever shot on neutral grey and composited into this Daz Studio background.

All backgrounds are themselves composites of various elements to create a 'hopefully' dramatic theatrical quality. The background here was an old mansion near me that is open to the public.

Dead rose. Thought I'd have a crack at this effect which I've seen on other people's photostreams. Quite like it, although I was seriously out of my depth among the spaceship controls and slidergizmos of the GIMP.

This illustration started out as a way to help visualize what the deck on the back of our house is going to look like when it is finally done. It ended up being a piece for an Illustration Friday theme too. Why use 3D software when you can do it all with pixels and Photoshop? Yes, this was done pixel by pixel and then some raster art frames and shadows were added to m ake the piece look a bit nostalgic and antique.

Author's notes: Whenever Granny and Grandpa would get into a tiff......Grandpa would just quiet down and let Granny rant and rave. He would retreat quietly to prepare for bed. While taking care of his teeth, he would feel a bit of satisfaction, to use Granny's favorite teacup for his needs.

As you know, Australia has large uranium reserves.
From the earliest times exposure to nuclear radiation has resulted in the creation of all kinds of mutant megafauna. From the 400 pound feral drop-bear to the 150 foot long greater great white shark these humungous horrors have proved a considerable obstacle to progress in Australia.
Before colonial occupation in the 18th century it was established that the only practical way to protect citizens from marauding B.B.Bs (Bloody Big Beasties) was to construct wrought iron framed, reinforced glass domes over all population centres.
Later, of course, as heavy industrialisation developed, it became possible for well armed vermin control expeditions to leave the safe harbours of the cities in steam powered, armoured land ironclads. Hydraulic powered gatling guns, Greek Fire throwers and rotating batteries of auto-fly swats were used to reduce the numbers of the ponderous pests.
As often happens, once the immediate pressure of everyday danger had passed, standards loosened, city watches were relaxed, and the domes were allowed to fall into disrepair.
Inevitably, on the 12th of October, 1894, a wandering V.L.A (Very Large Arachnid) breached the City Of Melbourne's ill-maintained dome and, ironically, succeeded in consuming the entire City Council (Including the slack-arsed dome maintenance chief clerk) before being driven off by concentrated field gun fire from the hastily mustered Melba Militia.
You wouldn't read about it for quids!
That's because Her Majesty's Royal Victorian censors at the time thought it best for public order that the entire incident be kept out of print.
The incident was officially de-classified in 1984, allowing surviving documents and photographs to be published for the first time.
