Jerry is a 5-year-old Poodle-Schnauzer (maybe) mix. What his dog mom, Kathy, loves most about him is his “kind and gentle soul.” In his short life, Jerry has been dumped at a shelter twice, most recently because his family “just didn’t have time to take care of him,” Kathy says. She calls Jerry her “Muppet,” and says his eyes are so humanlike that you think a person in a dog costume is looking at you.
Eight-year-old Roxy was adopted from Illinois Doberman Rescue when she was 9 months old. “We were looking for a playmate for her brother, Rambo, and they became best buddies from the moment she walked in the door,” says her dog mom, Dianna. “Her favorite activity is lure coursing. She is only 65 pounds but she keeps her brothers in line even though they are MUCH bigger than her!”
Luna is a 4-year-old Shepherd-Husky mix who was rescued from a local Pals for Paws organization. “With her one blue eye and one brown, one floppy ear and one upright ... two expressions on a single face!” says her dog mom, Karen.
Dakota, who crossed the Rainbow Bridge in January 2009, was “the size of a Great Dane,” says his dog mom, Pam. “He got me through the roughest of times and I am forever grateful. He was my shadow, my best friend and a huge, 150-pound baby. His left ear always tilted over and never stood up straight – it was his trademark and added to his great personality.
Cheri is a 12-year-old Rat Terrier-Jack Russell Terrier mix.
“Cheri may be a senior, but she loves to jog with me in the mornings and gladly takes all the cuddling afterward as her reward,” says Marissa, her dog mom.
“What I love mostly about Cheri is her ability to jump high like a circus dog when she gets excited to go outside or play with her bone,” Marissa says. “I also love that Cheri tears through her toys, in just one minute tops, to get to the squeaker. She always has her eye on the prize!”

Dogs are superior compared to other pets. They are the most loving, caring, and easy to train animals. And aside from feeding and playing with them, you can have another thing to do with them: turn them into a sticker. Sounds cool right? Do yours!
Daxter is a precocious, 1½-year-old white Schnauzer who's "the household destroyer of flip flops and, occasionally, my sanity," says Gretchen, his dog mom. "But I wouldn't have it any other way.”
Three-year-old Lady Bug had some problems when mange when her dog mom, Beth, and her daughter rescued her. Lady Bug is fine now and is in the process of becoming a therapy dog.
“I have medical problems, and Lady Bug stays near me when she knows I'm not feeling good,” Beth said. When she’s not hanging out with her dog mom, Lady Bug loves her neighbor’s pond.

Chrome, a Malinois-Catahoula mix, was about 5 months old in this picture. “Chrome is currently being trained as a service dog in the discipline of human remains detection with the non-profit group Special K-9s in Houston, Texas,” says her dog mom, Anni. “In this photo, she is getting her first exposure to swimming. I’m thinking she likes it. What do you think?”
Buddy is a 3-year-old Lab. “Since he was a puppy, he has enjoyed exposing his belly,” says his dog mom, Sandra. “I love his belly because it is so soft, and we all rub it for good luck. He is so special to us, because he has a heart of gold. He even barks ‘I love you’ very clearly. He shares our home with a rescued Chihuahua and a rescued cat.”
Inari-Sky is 2 years old. ”Inari is the Love of my life; she is there for me in any situation and whenever she thinks I might need her comfort,” says her pet parent. Inari is a tracking dog for missing persons. “She started her career at the age of 5 months. She loves making a difference to a child that might need her or someone that just needs a little help to get home. No matter who she meets, no one leaves without a smile on their face. That's just her way.”

Bleu is a 3-year-old purebred Australian Shepherd. This picture was taken at the top of a trail on Mount Hood. “He loves hiking, biking, canoeing, running and, most of all, chasing squirrels,” says his dog mom, Emma. “Bleu is very special because he can always tell when you need some lifting up. I believe that Bleu truly loves everyone. Bleu and I are also in our local dog 4-H program. Every year we show at the fair and do any other shows we can find.”
