Pumpkin is a 3½-year-old rescue Pit mix. “I love her belly because it's soft and pink, mostly bald and so fun to rub,” says her dog mom, Melissa. “Pumpkin is a big snuggler and such an empathetic dog. She helped me to heal my heartbreak by just loving me and being with me. We often soul-gaze together and she offers me lots of loving support. She loves to eat carrots and sweet potatoes, raw!”
Amber and Molly, both 4 years old, are “the best cuddlers in the world!” according to their pet parent.
Scamp will be 2 years old this month. His dog mom, Elizabeth, and her husband grew up with Dobermans, but couldn’t adopt one since they lived in a tiny apartment. As soon as they moved into a house, they began searching for one. One Saturday, Elizabeth saw a picture of Scamp on a local shelter’s website. “I fell in love with him just by his picture, he was so beautiful and happy looking,” Elizabeth says, “and I worried about him, an 8-month-old (no longer a puppy) dog in a kill shelter. That was the longest weekend of our lives!” The first thing Monday morning, her husband picked up Scamp at the shelter, no questions asked. “He is the sweetest, most loyal best friend we could have asked for. He even loves our cat! Scamp even scared away a burglar one night who was trying to break into our neighbor's house.”

Chewy, who’s now 4 years old, was a year old when he had surgery for a luxating patella. “Chewy is the sweetest, funniest, most loving dog I know,” says Cindy, his dog mom. “His favorite activity is bouncing one of those 16-inch kid's balls on his nose and running it around the yard like a soccer ball.”
Lucky is a 7-month-old yellow Lab. “I like this picture because it was the first photo of him in my home, and now he is part of my family,” said first-time dog parent, Fareed.
Lucky loves to eat , sleep ,chase insects and chew Fareed’s pillow and shoes. “He is the most cute and unique puppy,” Fareed said. “He always obey my orders and is the most intelligent, sweet dog.”
The stray dogs get a glimpse of their owner coming to pick them up. Thankfully, she lived just a few streets down from us and walked to our house to get her dogs. A happy reunion!

Mortis, a merle Great Dane, was 8 weeks old in this picture, but he’s now almost 3 years old. “He doesn't go belly up very often anymore, but when he does, it means he is in the mood for some serious cuddling!” says Brooke, his dog mom.

Although Joker, a Standard Poodle, is just a year old, “he’s already won my heart and the hearts of so many,” says his dog mom, Gail. “His thing is high jump - which I took a picture of him doing. He also received his AKC Canine Good Citizen certification at 8 months old. I have great expectations for this ‘clown,’ both in show biz and just being a dog. I'm so proud to be part of HIS life.”

Mosley is a 3-year-old Boxer. “This picture shows him on his first trip to a doggie beach that’s about 60 miles from where we live,” says Hilda, his dog mom. “He LOVED it! He had such a good time! Mosley is special because he loves people and he's the most lovable, affectionate dog. He's my companion and I love him too.”
This photo of Tiny Nelson was taken when he was "in jail" at a kill shelter. “I love this picture because he seems to say, ‘Pick me,’ plus he looks like he’s wearing a boa around his neck,” says Joani, his foster mom. “As a stray with a broken leg, Tiny was high on the list to be euthanized. After being rescued, he went on an unscheduled trip to South Carolina. He captured hearts all along the way, so his theme song is now ‘Travelin' Man’ by Ricky Nelson.”
