Cooper, a 2-year-old yellow Lab, had a rough start in life with stomach issues, but his dog dad Sid said he is doing much better now. In fact, Sid said Cooper is “developing into a beautiful vibrant young male that I think is half duck. I could not keep him out of the water if I tried. If we could get paid for playing, we'd be rich.”
Marley is a 4-year-old Husky-Golden Retriever mix. “What do we love most about Marley's eyes? The two different colors were definitely a major selling point when we adopted him from a woman with a cardboard box of puppies in Brooklyn,” says his dog dad, Steve. “The brown one is the special one. His brothers and sisters have two blue eyes. But, seriously, look at that eye. It's not just any brown – it has hints of gold and red that make you want to instantly forgive him for whatever prized possession he's chewed while you were gone. Marley is the most loyal, caring pup we've known. If you're sick, he's there. If you sad, he's resting his head on your leg. Every dog he meets is a potential friend.”
Jessie, the pooch on the right with the cone, is a 4-year-old Jack Russell mix. “She was adopted from a shelter with skin issues, and diagnosed with allergies to grass and dust mites, and is being treated for leaky gut syndrome,” says her dog mom, Beth. “She wears a soft cone so she can't lick her sensitive skin. Her ‘brother,’ Henry, tries to help her out of her cone, so they need to be watched closely!” Beth said she loves how Jessie “fights to enjoy life… When she's all better, I will most look forward to getting snuggles from her again.”

Buck is possibly a Corgi-Carolina Dog mix who’s about 6 years old. “Buck has trained my husband and me to rub his tummy whenever he lies on his back,” says his dog mom, Mara. “He lies upside down, looking at us and wagging his tail until we give him a belly rub. It's irresistible. When he first came to live with us, he was shy, wary of most people and other dogs. But now he's a super snuggler and he makes us laugh and feel loved every day. He even loves our cats. We feel so lucky to have him in our lives.”

Maggie is a 1½-year-old English Bulldog-Weimaraner mix adopted when she was just 5 weeks old. “After a clean bill of health from the vet, we learned early on that our sweet Maggie had a voracious appetite, which is evident in her photo,” says Erika, her dog mom. “That chubby belly is what made us fall in love with her from the start.” Maggie, who weighs in at 60 pounds, idolizes her "big" sister, a 16-pound Border Terrier.
Cought a nice shot of my dog, Right in the act of peeking around to corner.
Such a cute face of curiosity:)
King is a 3-year-old Redbone Coonhound-Shepherd mix who loves to go for runs. “Whether it's next to a bike (pictured), at the dog park or on the treadmill, King lives to run – you can even see the excitement in his ears!” says Melissa, his dog mom. “What makes King special is that I waited 22 years to adopt my first dog and he was the lucky one! He has the most handsome face, soft ears and will do anything for a good belly scratch.”
Tippy is a 3-year-old Maltese-Yorkie mix. “Her grooming isn’t that difficult, but keeping her clean is a chore,” says Cheryl, her dog mom. “She is a tomboy through and through. She is very active and she loves to show up our Jack Russell Terriers on the lure coursing field. Tippy has one of the funniest personalities we have ever seen in a dog. She is as sweet as can be when she is being loved on, but as naughty as can be when she is left on her own!”
Ava is an 8-year-old fawn Doberman, “a color rarely seen in photos or publications,” according to her dog dad, John, who adopted her from a humane society. Until then, Ava had led a difficult life. “She was caged with four other dogs and nearly starved to death,” John says. “Evidence is clear that she was definitely bred repeatedly and was physically abused.” But Ava is now a healthy, happy and enjoying a pampered life, her dog dad says. “She is incredibly caring and very much a Diva Doberman. When it’s chilly out, she will knock her coat off the hook to let me know to put it on her and take her walking. When sleepy, Ava will carry her blanket too me, so that I tuck her in… yes, a diva.”
Snoopy is a 5(ish)-year-old Boston Terrier-Sharpei-Corgi-etc. mix who was adopted after being rescued from a hoarding situation. “He had heartworm and sat in the shelter for almost four months waiting for a home,” says his dog mom, Gabi. “I stepped in to foster him while he went through his treatment. By the time he was cleared of heartworm, he had worked his way into my heart and was officially adopted.”
Gabi notes that sleeping belly-up like Snoopy does isn’t natural for a dog. “It's something that signifies they are very comfortable and feel safe in their home, so the fact that he is constantly ‘roaching’ makes me believe he's pretty happy in his new home, and grateful for a chance at a great (and spoiled) life.”

Eddie, aka Bravante Von Luka, is a 3-year-old, full-bred Doberman. “Eddie has such a willingness to learn new things on his own and then show them off to us,” say his pet parents. “When he wants a snack, he will push on a drawer with his nose, making it easy to get him to close drawers and cabinet doors when our hands are full! He is also very sneaky. He will sleep on his bed, but the minute he knows we are fast asleep, he will jump onto the bed, and to our surprise be all cuddled up with us in the morning.” According to his pet parents, Eddie’s serious demeanor is “just a front for strangers.”
