Thats Nannibai on R's lap. Fed up with Junior (oh he hassles her with his constant need for attention!), she needs an accessible lap to make her life bearable! Anyone sitting down and soon there will be something warm getting comfortable!
Let us rise up and be thankful, for if we didn't learn a lot today, at least we learned a little, and if we didn't learn a little, at least we didn't get sick, and if we got sick, at least we didn't die; so, let us all be thankful. Or, you know. Peace out.
Since it's just too dang cold out... we needed a way to keep the dogs occupied. So we filled some easter eggs with treats and hid them around the house... they "hunt" for them and then we don't have to walk them... yah! But then we spend an hour cleaning them up. Rats.
Two-year-old Freddie, aka Fredley, Fredward and the Gremlin, joined Hayley’s family almost a year ago. “He chews my clothes up, roughhouses with my two other dogs and, every once in a while, decides to pee on the carpet,” Hayley says. “He is not perfect, but that is why he fits in this family perfectly. I love how he sleeps under the covers with me every night, how he looks like a praying mantis whenever he ‘attacks’ his biscuits, how he zooms around the house in random spurts of energy, but most of all, how he sticks his pink little tongue out whenever he's concentrating on something too hard. “

I found this picture in my shots of Lucky, and it cracks me up!
Did I mention that there's no art to photographing a moving dog? It's all luck? I think my shadow proves that.
Leah is a 13-year-old Staffordshire. The senior pooch still loves the outdoors and camping. “This is a picture of Leah passed out in the back of the car, belly up, mouth open, after a long weekend doing what she loves to do,” says her dog mom, Sheena. Although Leah isn’t trained as a therapy dog, Sheena says she lets her know when her blood sugar is getting dangerously low. “While she's out enjoying herself, doing what a dog does, she's also helping me to get back into doing the things I love to do,” Sheena says.
Charley is an 8-month-old Rhodesian Ridgeback mix who had surgery for aural hematomas on both of his ears. “It was a rough couple of weeks after surgery because he ended up having an allergic reaction to tape and developed dermatitis,” says his pet parent. “What we love most about Charley is his happy personality.”
Kai is a pure-bred blue Doberman who is just over a year old. “Kai is strong willed and very loyal,” according to her dog dad, Jason. “And she loves having her butt scratched. “Jason said this is his favorite picture of Kai. “Her look is priceless.”
Carmella is a 2-year-old Golden Retriever mix. “After her family relocated due to flooding from Hurricane Irene last year, it was discovered that she had been severely neglected and abused,” says her dog mom, Jill. “She was at her third foster home, a scared, skeletal mess. Her legs were covered with cigarette burns. I saw her when I was delivering donations for flood victims. Her smiling eyes and adorable face won my heart! I thought about her all night, and emailed the man that had her the following day. Though he had wanted to keep her, he agreed that she really needed a lot of TLC, which I had waiting for her. After a lot of patience and care, she is now a confident, playful clown who loves to snuggle and doesn't run and hide at every sound. I love her, and her eyes communicate how much she loves me!”
Neeka is a pure-bred, 18-month-old Doberman. “She is very loyal to me and is a great cuddler – she craves and adores attention,” says Deb, her dog mom. “What makes her unique are her funny quirks –- splashing water all over the floor and making a mess when she drinks; throwing her blanket around before lying on it; and squishing her nose up against the glass door when looking out of it.”
I was secretly hoping that we wouldn't be able to find the dog's owner even though it was obvious that someone loved them and took good care of them (their teeth were cleaner and whiter than my own teeth, and it was obvious that they were very familiar with Snausages). I really fell in love with little Daisy who was built like a tank but had the sweetest disposition.
Duchess is an 18-month-old, black-and-tan, pure-bred Dobie. “She is bossed around the house by Kitty and loves to chase spiders,” says Kimberly, her pet parent. “We adopted this little girl from a family who left her alone outside. Now she spends her days lounging on the chaise lounge by the fireplace!” Kimberly says Duchess “drinks up my hot tea when I’m not watching, enjoys the broccoli under the table from my son and loves us unconditionally…as we do her!”
Kimberly says that in this photo, Duchess is saying, “What do you mean I can’t eat your yogurt? I can if you set it down….”
