In contemplating this object self-portrait project, I reflected on my calling as a woman, an artist and a teacher, asking God to reveal to me what kind of object would best represent me? At mass the next day, I saw anew the ideal form for me in the hands of a child bringing up the water in the cruet at the offertory. On further reflection, I recognized that this humble vessel was the prefect visual metaphor. Open to receive, water is poured into its spout and then emptied out to give sacrificial life to others in and infinite rhythm of receptivity and self-giving.This little transparent vessel, created to purify and add a drop of humanity to Christ’s sacrifice through the mingling of water and wine, inspires me to agape love.
I unite my blood with the sacrifice of Christ in the first image of the Triptych as the crimson drop enters the neck of the Cruet. This blood is poured out in the next image, just as we are called to empty ourselves in our self-giving to others. The final image shows the empty, spent vessel, stained with marks of the passion. Drained, it rests in a posture of receptivity to embrace the rivers of living water again; and, with grace, I, like the Cruet, pour myself out again trying to quench His Thirst.

moshpitmolly: I had that problem the other day, everytime I typed out a comment. So annoying. Was close to closing my account down to be honest, so I have hardly been on here this week other than to do the challenge posts on P4P grrrrr. So annoying and the spammers are back in full force again too!!!

Tidigt i mars; lite grönt men mest fjolårsfärger... olivgröna melerade handgjorda lampworkpärlor, små glaspärlor, metallrondeller och stora handknackade trekantsovala pärlor av stensorterna jaspis och agat.
Made me wonder who put this there, not there now though, brought an extra sense of loneliness to an already lonely place
