This handy gimbal is small and easy to set up for time lapse.
It is sitting on its own little tripod on the bonnet of my car.
I used this to time lapse my previous video of bush fire.
A few taps on the phone screen to set the interval and length of time lapse, then two more taps to set the starting point and position you want it to end.
It could not be made more simple.
I dampens all movements but you still have to be a bit careful while walking with it. The 3 axis gimbal does not eliminate that up/down walking motion.
You need to 'walk like a Ninja' as they say.
It also has Active track, gesture mode, hyperlapse, clone me, panorama and more.
Use on most smart phones with the free DJI Mimo app
I have an excellent time lapse function on my Nikon but I like the feature of the gimbal being able to pan across a scene almost like the 'dolly' effect.

So yeah, I went up there again.
It was some random afternoon in the end of last February. Or perhaps early March. I don't exactly remember as I did not take any notes nor did I capture a hyperlapse.
Random and exquisitely rainy. The kind of "bad" weather that makes you, as a photographer, think "hey, it's sunny now, there's going to be a rainbow ! and reflections ! and vivid colours. YAY !"
With that in mind, I spent my late afternoon photo/coffee break trying to capture this clarity and add to the already huge variations album I've been completing on this rooftop.
No rainbow but quite a golden hour.
Another clip from a mid-day walk yesterday in Lower Manhattan. I see up and down bouncing from walking, but stability is otherwise very good. I don't know if there's a way to reduce the wobbles from walking. I also need to space my key frames better for smoother transitions.
Mesmerizing clouds out my office window today. Used the iPhone to take a 40x hyperlapse. I noticed the farmer was out plowing the field. You have to look close to see him.
This kind of failed - any ideas? I wanted to take a time lapse of the sunset, but it's so windy up there that even with a tripod, the phone gets jiggled quite a bit. So I haven't posted any previous attempts because they're too jerky to want to watch. Then I decided to try this new Hyperlapse app that is supposed to smooth things out and steady the video, but I still don't really like how it came out. It gave the illusion of the camera moving smoothly instead of jerkily, rather than the illusion of it staying still. (I also used a wide angle lens on the phone, since hyperlapse works by cropping so you get a smaller field of view than usual.)
So yeah, how else can I counteract the wind?
Aerial hyper-lapse of Kuala Lumpur city skyline. In the centre, you can see the Petronas twin tower, and as I pull back, you can see other tall buildings in the city.

I did a survey about education with Common Core Education through a Twitter feed offer bu iOgrapher. I have experience with Common Core Education because of all the volunteer time I put on last year in Ms. Spitzer class and being on the PTA Executive Board. After I did the survey, two days later I got my iOgrapher case in the mail. The best way I could think of testing out this case in order to write a review. Was take the case and do shot video footage of Garden Club after school. I used Hyperlapse to film all of the footage, IntroMate to make the beginning of the short movie and put it all together with iMovie. I hope you will enjoy watching Garden Club.

From my backyard, it was a pretty bland sunset, but then I popped the drone up for a look.

Made another (slightly elevated) one using some new apple tools - screen recording on the iPad with iOS 11 + iMovie. Runs at 1.75x speed, and check out the pitch-shifted game background music and train sounds :)
Sorry about the points below
1) Taken from my window, so not the best view.
2) Video's in 720p since software doesn't export above.
3) It got dark which sucks.
4) It's my first one
Hope you enjoy anyways. I want to make better ones or even hyperlapses like stated in the video.
Jamen Percy - This is what an absolute legend looks like. Jamen was just kicking ass out there. Jamen was not only contributing wonderful photographs, he was shooting video, gigapans, hyperlapses, and making radical gifts. Not to mention the incredible costume. Jamen was even a great campmate. It has been a pleasure to get to know you and spend fleeting moments together when neither of us are shooting. Jamen is a legit badass. I can't say enough good things about Jamen. If anyone in the ORG happens to see this, please support Jamen in whatever capacity possible. Jamen is hard working, respectful, and extremely talented. Doin it right if you will. Check out Jamen's website for incredible Burning Man images. www.jamenpercy.com/ As an aside, Jamen and I were flying drones with the correct permissions at Burning Man this year. We both had to travel internationally to take our FAA Part 107 certification and were given permission to fly by the wonderful BRC Safety Team. If you were flying drones this year without permission you were doing it wrong. Like the guy I stopped from flying during the temple burn over the crowd. Like really man?! Yikes. Please contact me or the ORG and I can point you in the right direction for requesting permission to fly drones at Burning Man. It's not simple to fly safely.
