I've done a hyper lapse clip in Grand Central before, but it's a good place try out new gear.

Stupid me left camera in Mfine jpeg from making a hyperlapse, sadly there is only so much you can do with a jpeg even with lightroom

Just behind the bridge there was a huge cruise ship smiling at me and photobombing my shot! =)

Went out for a little nightscape photography... Decided to stay within the city limits of Reykjavik, Iceland, for a change... While I was at it, I decided to experiment a little... You can see the results here... vimeo.com/84472696

Shot last night with the pond in the center of Reykjavik covered with ice... Loved the way the lights reflected off the ice and ended up shooting a hyperlapse video along the pond... Check it out at vimeo.com/84564901

Used internal timelapse on Nikon D850. set interval to 1 sec but slowed down to 60% as was a bit hectic.

this produce market only comes out at night, by day it is a normal road and main thoroughfare.

After two years of filming, I finished the fourth and final timelapse montage in the "Mauna Kea Heavens" series. This video features lots of adaptive optics lasers, milky way shots, many scenes of the erupting volcano, and several hyperlapse sequences. It utilizes focal lengths from 12mm to 1000mm. I completed my PhD and moved from Hawaii to Washington, D.C., so I won't be filming the telescopes anymore. It can be viewed at vimeo.com/302336360

The video opens with a shot of the moon setting behind the telescopes that was taken with a 1000mm lens from 30 miles away. I also made several attempts to film the moonrise from the opposite side of the island. None of them came out well enough to be included in the montage, but this was a still frame from one of the attempts. I'm not entirely sure, but I think the three domes are Keck 1 Subaru, and Gemini.

* Its one from my serial HyperLapse ( 350 images, totally)

That's what happen when you get to the right spot at the wrong time, I missed the moon rising and I found it already up in the sky when it had already lost its strawberry color. I decided to shoot a Timelapse in 4k anyway and lucky me, a couple of moon dogs appeared and later on also a slight parhelium! What a crazy sight and night! Hope you guys like it

Cheers!

I get a lot of questions about how I do these. I figured I give a little info this time.

I shot this handheld from the Staten Island Ferry. 335 images captured on a Sony A6300 and 18-105 f4. Each frame was manually stabilized in After Effects one at a time.

Fun stuff!

My first attempt on a Hyperlapse. Sorry the video is a bit jerky, I held the camera in my hand against the window of the airplane and its very hard to keep it steady that way!

My biggest hyperlapse yet! This is my first time shooting a dolly zoom. (vertigo effect)

This whole sequence took about two and a half hours to shoot.

Even with this tripod, the wind jiggles the phone enough to significantly mess up a time lapse video. Any ideas on how to fix that? It gets very windy up there.

First Timelapse. Sunset at ConnyHill - Körprich - Saarland - Germany.

Landing at Chicago O'Hare at Sunset. I'm sorry the video is so jerky - I held it with my hand against the window on the airplane, and its very hard to keep steady that way. I have learned two things from this: one, I need to book all future flights with the aim of landing at sunset because that was really cool, and two, I need to buy a suction cup window mount for my iPhone.

I took frames using iLapse at half second intervals, exported them to computer, and made the video using Zeitraffer. Maybe I should have used Hyperlapse to get a smooth video, but I wanted to also be able to save the frames as separate photos in case some of them were good as standalone photos. I guess I have to either commit to one thing at a time and not try to do still photos and timelapses at once, or I have to find a way to run that kind of stabilization algorithm on the frames after the fact. Anyone know a way to do that?

It's a bit of a trek to get from the new LIRR platform at Grand Central to the street. This clip goes up to the main concourse, so it's a bit longer than going straight to 42nd Street.

If you ever find yourself in Newfoundland, you have to go see Gros Morne National Park, and if you do, I highly recommend taking the Western Brook Pond boat tour. It was amazing, and I can't wait to show you the hyperlapse I shot from the boat! This is one of the frames from the timeapse. I cropped a little off the bottom of the photo.

From Wikipedia "The Western Brook Pond is a Canadian fjord or lake located in Gros Morne National Park on the west coast of the island of Newfoundland. It is in the Long Range Mountains, the most northern section of the Appalachian Mountains. It is surrounded by steep rock walls 600 m (2,000 ft) high, having been carved from the surrounding plateau by glaciers. After the glaciers melted, the land rebounded and the fjord was cut off from the sea. Salty water was eventually flushed from the fjord leaving it fresh. The catchment area is composed of igneous rock with relatively thin soil, so the waters feeding Western Brook Pond are low in nutrients and the lake is classified as ultraoligotrophic. It is fed by Stag Brook at the extreme eastern end of the lake and by numerous waterfalls cascading from the plateau above. One of these, Pissing Mare Falls at 350 m (1,150 ft), is one of the highest in eastern North America." You can see Pissing Mare Falls on the right. I'll post a better shot of them next.
