Have a "Happy Macro Monday"
and a good start into the new week.🌸
Many thanks for all your views, faves and comments.
The Hydrangeas did very well this year, although in general the heads are smaller probably due to the hot summer.
Now some have been dried and form a lovely dash of colour in the room.
Hydrangea, the name, comes from the Greek words "hydro" or water, and "angeion," or vase = water vase, they prefer a lot of water.
A very ancient plant, found in fossils going back thousands of years.
Flower lovers will know that there is a flower language.
Every sentiment is expressed in one form or another by delicate blooms.
Of course, even the experts disagree on the "true meaning" of many flowers and most have different meanings to different people.
So, while all flowers convey thoughtfulness and love, a gift of flowers for a special someone will always create its own personal meaning, too.
HYDRANGEA - Thank You for Understanding.
Have a wonderful day and thank you for your comments with all my heart, M, (*_*)

Borde Hill has such a variety of hydrangea bushes that are simply stunning at the moment, well worth the trip for these alone if you are in Sussex.
Taken for Saturday Self-Challenge ~ Christmas decorations.
We don't do traditional Christmas decorations in our house any more, however the dining room table is always decorated with our Christmas flowers - the hydrangeas, which are blooming just in time this year
MERRY CHRISTMAS !

Autumn or fall in South Africa is April to May. It is generally warm and dry with days getting shorter and the temperature cooling as it gets closer to winter.
Winter in South Africa is June to August. It is generally dry and cool, with snow falling in the mountainous regions.

…..photo bombed by a "flutterby".
I was focused on the bloom and the butterfly came right into the frame.

A change in tone from last week's shot here are some nice soft pastels with mixed hydrangea blossoms and old glass bottles on a marble floor tile.

Normally, our dwarf hydrangea is a pretty little summer shrub with very small flowers. But with the extreme heat this year, it didn’t bloom.
Now, in the first week of Autumn we are getting tiny gorgeous buds. The minuscule bright red points on the leaf edges are a nice detail.
This week’s experiment: 3 different shots using different gear, light, & shooting approaches.

For some reason we have had trouble getting hydrangea to bloom. These, at our house in Tennessee, were some of the nicest hydrangea blossoms we've ever had.
I took this in the park on E's birthday - I've been looking for a hydrangea to photograph (inspired by the lovely Tracey) and this was the best I could find. I put a couple in my garden this year but they haven't really got going yet.
Thanks to ghostbones for the textures - I've had fun processing this tonight for sad bokeh friday and HNFF!
I'm so honoured that this was chosen to be TWTME icon of the day!
