A few of fourteen hydrangea's on this fence row between our yard and our daughter's next door.

One of the few flowering plants that stay with you all year if you care for them. Some people cut the dried stems in late autumn to keep the dried foliage in a vase. I prefer dried hydrangea to the summer flower because of its uniqueness. Texture underlay added (my own). Taken at Riverwood Park.

Hakone Tozan MoHa 1 #104 climbs the 8% grade towards Ohiradai Station as it passes a fully bloomed row of hydrangeas. Japanese mountain railroading does not disappoint.

I've loved hydrangeas ever since I saw my first one decades ago, way before they were so trendy, but I've never seen these little stars. Maybe I've not looked closely enough, or maybe this is a variety I've not seen before. Cool though, eh?

This will be a pink hydrangea flower soon. Right now I enjoy it being green with the little bits of pink starting to show!

June 23rd Explore # 288

June in Japan is the beginning of its "infamous" rainy season. Most days from June into late July are filled with warm, rainy days and cloudy skies. Yet, it is in this rainy period when Japan's second most famous flowers bloom, Hydrangeas.

In the Tokyo Metropolis, three railways are very well known for the hydrangeas that bloom along the line, the Hakone-Tozan Railway, The Keio-Inakashira Line and the Enoshima Electric Railway. Goryo Shrine near Kamakura is a famous spot for hydrangeas, often packed with locals and tourists to view and photograph them. Here, an Enoden Type 1000 Series leads a Fujisawa bound local as it approaches Goryo Shrine.

Hydrangea

Light Stalking, Mobile Monday

Even in the depths of winter the hydrangea looks beautiful.

Last year our hydrangeas bloomed in May This year we have only one of many plants blooming only now.

Hydrangea in morning light .

Good morning everyone .

The Hydrangeas did very well this year, although in general the heads are smaller probably due to the hot summer.

Now some have been dried and form a lovely dash of colour in the room.

Hydrangea, the name, comes from the Greek words "hydro" or water, and "angeion," or vase = water vase, they prefer a lot of water.

A very ancient plant, found in fossils going back thousands of years.

Flower lovers will know that there is a flower language.

Every sentiment is expressed in one form or another by delicate blooms.

Of course, even the experts disagree on the "true meaning" of many flowers and most have different meanings to different people.

So, while all flowers convey thoughtfulness and love, a gift of flowers for a special someone will always create its own personal meaning, too.

HYDRANGEA - Thank You for Understanding.

Have a wonderful day and thank you for your comments with all my heart, M, (*_*)

This is the top of the hydrangea bush in our front garden, viewed through our front window.

Our hydrangea is sort of a non-descript colour, being neither pink nor blue, but I often think of it as pearl.
