In the past two centuries there have been many changes at Beard's Hollow. Historically, the Chinook Indians visited the tide pools near the waters edge to collect sea life for food and shells to use as tools and decorations.
When the Lewis and Clark Expedition explored this area in 1805, the ocean waves reached much further into Beards Hollow.
In the early 1900's, a privately owned campground in Beard's Hollow offered access to the ocean for swimming and fishing.
Later, basalt from nearby cliffs was quarried for construction materials. After the Columbia River jetties were built (1885-1915), the cove filled in and became a wetland.
Washington State Parks has managed the site since 1982.

Stations of the Cross in the Herz Jesu Church (5-6/14)
Herz Jesu church in the Augsburg suburb Pfersee was consecrated in 1910. It's the biggest Art Nouveau church in Southern Germany.
Theodor Baierl (1881-1932) painted the 14 Stations of the Cross in the years 1912-18. Here you see the fifth and the sixth station:

At this point, is line 17 to Statenkwartier replaced by line 16. Line 17 does now service with the new Avenio trams and is shortened to Korte Voorhout, near the Central Station of The Hague.
Göteborg harbor, Sweden
The Viking is a four-masted bark and was built in 1907 by Burmeister & Wain in Copenhagen, Denmark. There are only ten four-masted barks known to exist today, of which only five can sail. The Viking is now used as a floating hotel in the harbor of Göteborg.
The Opel Commodore was a Rekord with a six cilinder engine and a more luxureous standard equipment. All came with a vinyl covered roof. The four door version and the two door hardtop coupe were most common, not many buyers opted for the two door sedan.

Since Iris is the Greek goddess for the Messenger of Love, her sacred flower is considered the symbol of communication and messages.
Therefore the flower iris in the language of flowers symbolises eloquence.
A purple iris is symbolic of wisdom and compliments.
A blue iris symbolises faith and hope.
A yellow iris symbolises passion while white iris symbolises purity.
As you can see, the gift of iris can be used to convey many emotions.
Dutch irises are hybrids of two older varieties, giving it a look all its own.
The distinctive ‘fleur-de-lis' flowers come in a variety of blues, yellows, purples, and white.
Organic, sensual, all about shape and colour.
The Iris is just born elegance... extremely ephemeral, they barely last a few days, yet with unbelievable beauty and style.
Best to leave them in the garden... like so many of the bulbs!

Zaterdag 1 juni 2019 bezochten wij de SGB. Hier werd het jaarlijkse evenement 'Sporen naar het Verleden' gehouden. Er waren een aantal gastlocs waaronder deze HTM loc 8. De eerste rit van deze trein werd gefotografeerd in Hoedekenskerke Goederen.
Het is 11:38 als HTM loc 8 'ooievaar' als trein 91 vanuit Goes door Hoedekenskerke Goederen rijdt.
