At dusk 夕暮れ時
I stayed one night in Minamisanriku town.
This town is the seaside town located at the inner part of the bay and had the terrible damage by 2011 tsunami.
Much people became victims.
I introduce some photos of the sea taken from the hotel I stayed.
I saw only the calm and beautiful sea.
南三陸町に一泊しました。
この町は湾の奥に位置する町ですから、2011年の津波で大きな被害を受けました。
多くの人々が犠牲になったのです。
滞在したホテルから撮影した写真を紹介します。

This is the Chain Reaction RVR-05, a custom LEGO spacecraft.
There’s a construction video on YouTube covering the complete build process.
The model was inspired by the Thunder Force game series. It’s a new evolution playing with design style from the Thunder Force official “RVR” line-up and a lovely RVR-03 concept by Sparrow S.A.
It comprises 2110 parts without the stand. All elements are from LEGO. Some shiny bits were chromed. I individually tinted the 21 trans-clear parts making up the canopy because I wanted a green.
68 of these elements are the new-for-2025 "plate 1x1 round with bottom clip" (ID 5264). The part is a revelation! It unlocked tight angles in the tail, a new engine design, off-grid placement of facets, and more.

Ruimte is schaars, zeker in een stad als Den Haag. Een oplossing is gebouwen te bouwen over wegen, spoor- en tramlijnen, zoals op meer plekken in De Haag is gedaan. Op 10 februari 2015 komt tramstel 3033 (zonder botsneus!) uit de trampassage aan de Wijnhaven.
Het beeld links heet "Light and Darkness" en is gemaakt door de Oostenrijkse architect Rob Krier.

Space is scarce, particularly in a city like The Hague, the political and governmental centre of The Netherlands. A solution is to build buildings over roads, railways and tramlines, like has been done on several places in The Hague. On February 10, 2015 the HTM 3033 pops out the passage at the Wijnhaven.
The statue on the left is called "Light and Darkness" and is created by the Austrian architect Rob Krier.

I don't know if that was the story, but it seemed like a reasonable title for this archive shot, taken in 2014 as folks streamed toward the exit following an evening entertainment event at Chicago Botanic Garden.

Op het terrein van de remise Zichtenburg van de HTM werd op 8 juni 2024 een "line-up" van PCC-trams georganiseerd. Aanleiding was het jubileum 75 jaar PCC-tram in Den Haag. Van alle types rijvaardige PCC's werd een exemplaar als afgevaardigde naar het familiefeestje gestuurd. Ook de opvolgers in de vorm van GTL-8, Regio-Citadis en Avenio-tram mochten het feestje bijwonen.

La chapelle de Kermaria est, avec l'église de Kernascléden (Morbihan), le seul sanctuaire de Bretagne à posséder une fresque représentant ce thème de l'art macabre du Moyen Âge. Cette fresque comportant 47 figures d'environ 1,3 m de haut, avait été recouverte de badigeon au XVIIIe siècle, et remise au jour en 1856 par Charles de Taillart. La réalisation de cette fresque est située entre 1488 et 1501, soit environ un demi-siècle après celle du cloître des Innocents à Paris.

Marstrand is a seaside locality on the Swedish west-coast.y, Sweden. It had 1,319 inhabitants in 2010 and has held city privileges since 1200. The most striking feature about Marstrand is the 17th-century fortress Carlsten, named after King Carl X Gustav of Sweden. The town got its name from its location on the island Marstrandsön.
During the last quarter of the 18th century Marstrand had the free port status, granted by the King Gustav III. Marstrand is a popular sailing resort in summer time. It is also the venue of the annual Match Cup Sweden, a match race sailing competition.

Op 10 april 2022 werden er door het Haagse HOVM enkele afscheidsritten naar het Statenkwartier gereden. De tramlijn zal aangepast worden aan de bredere Avenio-trams en de ruime lus door de wijk zal vervangen worden door een kopeindpunt.
De PCC's van de serie 1000 hebben vele jaren op de tramlijn naar het Statenkwartier gereden. Museumtram 1022 verlaat hier het oude remise complex aan de Frans Halsstraat waar tegenwoordig het openbaar vervoermuseum in gevestigd is. Via het enkelspoor verlaat de passend ingetuigde wagen het remiseterrein.

Het Haags Openbaar Vervoer Museum (HOVM) organiseerde met de HTM een line-up in het kader van 'PCC 75' op het remiseterrein Zichtenburg. Daarbij kwamen niet alleen de PCC-trams aan bod (de vier aan de linkerzijde - 75 jaar in Den Haag) maar ook vertegenwoordigers van de huidige tramgeneraties (de drie aan de rechterzijde: een Avenio, RegioCitadis en GTL). Keurig georganiseerd!
The Haags Openbaar Vervoer Museum (HOVM) organised a line-up with HTM as part of 'PCC 75' at the Zichtenburg depot. This included not only PCC tramcars (the four on the left - 75 years in The Hague) but also representatives of the current tram generations (the three on the right: an Avenio, RegioCitadis and GTL). Perfectly organised!

This is the view northwesterly at Powell Point off the Hermit's Rest Road.
I took a little winter trip to the South Rim. Hardly any crowds at this time of year. Temperatures in the upper 20's during the day, mid teens at night with windchills into the single digits. I am well prepared for these temperatures and was comfortable most of the time. I stayed at the El Tovar Lodge.

What's in a name?
The story of Grand Canyon as we know it is tied directly to John Wesley Powell. As a geologist Powell grew interested in exploring the unknown canyons of the Green and Colorado rivers. He studied reports from earlier expeditions, but in the late 1800s there wasn't much to go on and most of what was available was inaccurate and jaded by the perceptions of early explorers. Gathering support and supplies from the Smithsonian Institution, railroads, educational institutions, and Congress for his expedition down the Green River. He designed his own boats and gathered a makeshift crew of ex-trappers, mountain men, and Civil War veterans like himself. The expedition launched four boats from Green River, Wyoming in May 24, 1869 to explore the course of the river, fill in the blank spots that littered maps of the southwest, and to gather scientific data.

Congress memorialized Major John Wesley Powell at this site along the West Rim Drive of Grand Canyon. The memorial, a raised platform from which visitors can catch a better view of the gorge, contains a brass plaque.
The Congress that dedicated the memorial deemed Powell the first explorer of the Grand Canyon, an accolade that later generations realize is not true. Humans had lived in and around Grand Canyon for thousands of years before Powell put his first boat in the waters of the Colorado River in 1869.
The Science journal of 1916 described the newly constructed memorial as a structure worthy alike of the rugged, forceful personality of the man and of the titanic chasm which it overlooks.
Congress appropriated $5,000 in 1909 for a memorial to Powell for his services as director of the U.S. Geological Survey. The original vision was for a Roman chair, facing the Canyon, but instead a landscape engineer at the National Parks designed the altar decorated in Indian imagery made of local, rough-hewn stone.
At the time of the Science article, Grand Canyon had not yet been named a National Park, but at least the article's unnamed author expected that designation to follow, which it did in 1919.

And my horoscope today was so kind as to tell me that no one is going to show up on my doorstep to give me a bag full of money.... and as if that's not bad enough, they added that Prince Charming is also not going to be knocking at my door. Well, thanks alot Horoscope... what a way to start the day! It's Ok... I wasn't looking for Prince Charming... but, hey.... that bag full of money could come in real handy. Oh well. I guess I'll just keep waiting! LOL

It's a magnificent piece of property and a really nice 5.2 mile hike ...lots of wildlife... bring your camera! AND they feed us after the hike! (YEY! We are always very excited about free food) I'm doing the hike before I start work. (and don't worry...there is no shooting going on during the hiking time!) LOL! Come join us!
