Since I got these new windscreens from Speed Racers I wanted to use them in a Star Wars moc. My Imperial Hover Tank is inspired by a concept art for Rogue One that recently appearedin the web.

hover flies are one of my favorite macro subject. i love their golden color ( especially this particular species ) and i like chasing them.

I came across an American Kestrel hovering over a farm field while hunting. It was windy enough that he was not moving very much while hovering.

I spent the afternoon trying to shoot bumble bees again. OK I know this isn't a bee, its a hover fly, however, I got distrated from the bees and thought I'd try hover flys for a bit!

Another one from last year - taken in a neighbour's garden.

Tomorrow we are going to see the Funeral Home to arrange Peter's Dad's funeral and to clean out his room in the Aged Care Facility. It has only been just over a week since we cleaned out my brother's unit, so it is all a bit stressful for me.

Hover fly. Probably Simosyrphus grandicornis, family Syrphidae, or a close relative. They mimic bees and or wasps but are flies. And they hover.

Through my camera lens I watched this hover fly rubbing its front legs together. Amazing!

A hover lift tractor carefully maneuvers HabLab 1 away from the docking cradle on Able Traveller, as a second waits its turn to make the connection. Both hover lifts in tandem take the module down to the surface from orbit. The process of undocking the HabLabs and linking them between tractors is a delicate one that requires several hours of space walks to complete.

We have two very competitive (what I think are) sibling juvenile ruby throated humming birds. They may be offspring of our early summer pair. (I would love some help with ID). They come every day, all day long. I haven't seen the parents in weeks.

This nice hover-fly was soaking up the sun today in Bristol!

These hoverflies become very territorial in early spring, each male claiming an aerial territory for himself and fighting away any rival males which come near. He will hover motionless for several minutes before attacking or chasing a female

It's fun to be able to get a new perspective on a familiar scene--as a pedestrian!
