the feelings were just so strong, a brilliant radiance
now it just seems like some parts just aren't there.
i have no clue why i edited this photo this way. i thought it looked cool. i think i'm having second thoughts. it's been so long since i've used my 18-55mm lense again. it was nice to have a change.

A nice system in the hostel, whatever you eat/drink you just jolt on a tattered notebook, when you checkout you just pay the whole sum instead of trifling with small transactions everyday. Based on trust and it works. Is funny also to see a map of your appetite. Mine wasn't too long but there were some interesting ones spanning on 2 months...
Death Valley is generally sunny, dry, and clear throughout the year. The winters, November through March, are mild with occasional winter storms, but summers are extremely hot and dry.
Today in the lab I was working on some fire assay. I can't tell you anything about the samples due to confidentiality, but what I can tell you is that the crucibles in that furnace are at 1100°C (Celsius), which is 2012°F. This technique dates back quite a few hundred years, and is still the best method for determining the purity of some precious metals.

We're into the third day of a heat wave and I'm lovin' it!!! I am so NOT a winter person. Do you see it up there? 43C with the humidity.....bring it on!!!
At least now I have an excuse for my naturally frizzy hair.....
We went to watch the demo at New Orleans Creative Glass Institute which is more or less in our neighborhood. I've always been entertained when I stop by there and tonight was no exception.
They were making a cupcake. A gigantic cupcake, and on top of the cupcake was a crashed rocketship, and riding that rocketship was a girl who had a cherry on top of her head and breasts made of cupcakes. I'm not making any of this up.
Plus they did it all in just under two hours.
Another scorcher out there today. 103 degrees. A nice tasty peppermint mocha sounded ever so delightful. Went to the drive up ATM and the person before me had left their ATM card in the machine, so I finished my banking and ran it inside. On my way home did some more Auto Karaoke as someone put it. =) Now? Just waiting to go to work!
