We're in the middle of an unseasonable heatwave which is expected to peak on Sunday with 34c. A tad too hot for May although looking on the bright side, the swimming pool is in constant use!
As well as going to the boulangerie which you see in the photo, we also dropped by the Mairie (Town Hall) which was just off camera in order to sign the Book of Condolence which has been opened for Mimi, one of our neighbours who died suddenly at the weekend. The Book of Condolence is set outside the main entrance to the Mairie in a desk-type piece of furniture with a glass lid covering the book. The legs of the desk are surrounded by black velvet. If you're from the village and you die then the Mairie is informed and they prepare a Book of Condolence for each person and which people from the village who knew the deceased can come and pay their respects with a message and their name. It's a sad thing to have to do but in its way, if I may describe it as such, a charming village ritual.
We're at the beginning of a severe heatwave which is preventing us from doing anything outdoors during the afternoon/early evening. It's currently 40c in the shade. It's due to break though next weekend when temperatures will drop to a delightful 26c. This photo shows a field of barley with a glimpse of a lavender field top right. It was very hot on this day too which I see was taken on 9 July. Summer does tend to go on and on and on here.

We were having milder weather, slowly melting the snow away, but today it's -30 Celsius & very windy ... go figure!!! So my fireplace is working overtime! So glad I have it to enjoy! Best viewed large!

A Scotch Bonnet chilli pepper I have been drying out since last year. Will harvest the seeds now and get them planted up. Love 'em.
Strobist: Backlit with a Lenser P3 and lit the seeds with a Lenser P7. All shot on a piece of black perspex which drove me insane getting rid of the dust!

Happy 1st. day of summer my friends! These are some of the lovely roses in my front garden, both red & pink, next to my driveway, as you can see.
Yeah, I didn't get to use the polaroid I took on their wedding day (it rained and we have to do the posed shots on a sunny day)--maybe that's because there was a bigger plan for it. :) I know these are done a lot with weddings, hopefully this is a bit more original.
I love these two because they are down for anything, even taking their shirts off for me! ;) Not only did we get to shoot their wedding, but made two amazing friends.

what a beautiful day today (: finally reaching the 84s+ however, it was hothothot. like hard to breathe & i'm going to tan for sure hot LOL. i probably got tanner again today after staying in the sun this long, my god. i'm gonna be a roasted kid by the time it gets to summer D:
so today, we finally go back to school after what a wonderful spring break. i only had three hours of sleep to start out the day, and it didnt even turn out as bad as i thought. AMAZINGLY, I WASN'T EVEN TIRED. like WTH? this is a first, (: maybe i was happy since i get to see my friends again, after a long 11 days, LOLL.
but anyways, why waste such a wonderful weather, if you can wear shorts, skirts, dresses & such (: and that's what i did, muahah ! i even played handball in this, i always do. it was fun for a while, but the sun finally hit me after like 15 minutes of playing, i completely died. but at least i played a whole complete game :)
i wish the weather would stop being so stupid & confused.

From our night in the desert..
Taken up onto the highest sand dunes in that area to watch the sunset..
It was amazing!! Can even see some sun spots on the sun!!

We stayed overnight at a desert camp in Oman.
Very hot! We went dune bashing, sunset watching, rode camels, camped in carpet tents with no a/c, evening meal and breakfast included! Superb!
Once in a lifetime experience indeed!

We've just been through a bit of a heatwave here in Adelaide - four days in a row over 40°C (104°F) - and today we are promised 44! Hasn't quite reached that yet, only 42.8 at the moment but that's close enough as far as I'm concerned. My little electric fan is blowing hot air on me at the moment but it is better than nothing. At least it isn't too humid.
Predicting 26 with showers for tomorrow - bliss :-)
Final max for the day: 43.2°C - still 33.9 at 10:00 pm - sleep... problematic

Barely one week into summer and the temperatures here are already sweltering. With highs hovering in the mid to upper 90's, that's hovering around 35.5 C, even the birds, like this Blue Jay were feeling the heat.
I don't have the heart to tell them it's only going to get hotter as summer drags on. 🌞
