I hosted a lovely couple from Seattle last night, Ian and Tina McKillop. They were very enthusiastic students and definitely up for hot Thai spices! Their choice of menu was my all-time most popular class, Thai Classic Favourites. Dishes included Thai Spring Rolls, Phad Thai Noodles, Coconut Soup, Red Curry and Stir-Fry Mixed Vegetables. My famous Deep Fried Bananas with Ice Cream was on for dessert!

The Nebraska National Guard hosts a delegation from the Czech Republic June 9-10, 2022, to discuss ongoing relationships between the Nebraska National Guard and the Czech Republic, and the future of the State Partnership Program. During the visit, the delegation participated in bilateral discussions on the future of the State Partnership Program – where Nebraska and the Czech Republic have been matched for nearly three decades – and a trilateral discussion with Rwanda Defence Forces (Nebraska’s other partner) on future opportunities for collaboration. While in Nebraska, the delegation met with Governor Pete Ricketts, toured the State Capitol and received honorary state citizenship. The delegation also traveled by CH-47 Chinook helicopter to tour multiple Nebraska National Guard training locations. The tour included the Camp Ashland Training Site and the Greenlief Training Site near Hastings, where they had the opportunity to attempt the U.S. Army’s new weapons qualification. The overall goal of the engagement was to build stronger relationships between leaders of the two partners, and to establish expectations for the future of the program. October 10, 2021 - The majority of the smokestack has been demolished and what remains has been turned into a electronic message board. I can't remember the last time I have seen it illuminated of course I don't drive much at night anymore since my retirement.

"The remaining portion of the smokestack to the north of the Ice House was part of the Hoster boiler house. At one time it was the tallest structure in southern Franklin County" Previous text from Columbus Landmarks Foundation's City Hop 2001 program.

Lt. Gen. Rick Lynch., Commander, Installation Management Command, will host a flag uncasing ceremony for the U.S. Army Installation Management Command Oct. 5, 2010 at 10 a.m. in San Antonio, Texas.

Dr. Joseph W. Westphal, Under Secretary of the United States Army, will be the guest speaker.

The ceremony represents the presence of the installation management community and the assumption of the command's authority in San Antonio. The installation management community includes the U.S. Army Installation Management Command Headquarters and two major subordinate commands: U.S. Army Environmental Command and the Family and Morale, Welfare and Recreation Command.

IMCOM temporarily occupies leased space in northeastern San Antonio until the new IMCOM Headquarters Building on Fort Sam Houston is completed in October 2011.

Uncasing the flag exemplifies how IMCOM, headquartered in "Military City USA," is transforming to make Army installations the Army's Home.

Elmora School 12 hosted its annual Multicultural Show, ”One World, Many Stories” on Friday, June 5th. Parents and students in the audience danced and sang along with the performers on stage. Many standing ovations were given to the performers. Dances, poetry, and songs from all over the world were showcased. Teachers surprised the audience with a dance of many Medleys from all over the world.

The highlight of the show was the parade, where over 100 students walked into the Gym to the song “Coming to America.” Students and staff members walked in a line wearing native clothing from their country, waving the American Flag. It was an emotional and patriotic beginning. Students and parents were able to celebrate diversity, learn about other cultures, and pay tribute to this great country for educating so many children from all over the world!
