The N.C. Department of Transportation hosted a public meeting on Wednesday, December 9, to answer questions regarding work pending on Walkertown-Guthrie Road along the WSNB Project route in Forsyth County.
The meeting took place from 5 until 7 p.m. at the Gospel Light Baptist Church in Walkertown.
NCDOT representatives displayed maps of the designs and were available to answer questions and receive comments. There was no formal presentation.
This project has been underway for nearly one year and the contractor, Dragados USA has cleared, placed fill and began some structure construction on the project. They have implemented an onsite detour on U.S. 158 and will began construction within the next two months on the Walkertown-Guthrie Road bridge that will go over the new Beltway. The roadway will be closed for 8 months to complete this section of the project. This closure will require an offsite detour.
The project begins at U.S. 158 southwest of Winston-Salem and ends at I-74/U.S. 311 southeast of the city. The total length of the project is 34.2 miles.
The project is scheduled to be fully complete in December of 2018.

Consul General Hosts Independence Day Reception
Consul General Lee McClenny hosted the Consulate General’s annual Independence Day celebration at the Hyatt Regency Montréal. In his remarks, McClenny highlighted the close ties between Quebecers and Americans as well as the significance of the administration of President Barack Obama. The assembled guests, from all sectors of Quebec society, enjoyed the view from the beautiful Hyatt terrace and an exhibit of photos taken in Washington on Inauguration Day by Montreal photographer Christine Bourgier. Guests were also treated to a visit by legendary American singer Stevie Wonder, in town to kick off the 30th Montreal International Jazz Festival. Wonder offered his best wishes for the day, and graciously agreed to take a few pictures with U.S. Consulate staff and guests.

Le Consul général Lee McClenny a tenu la réception annuelle du Consulat en hommage à l’indépendance des États-Unis au Hyatt Regency Montréal. Les invités ont également eut droit à la visite du chanteur américain légendaire Stevie Wonder, en ville pour lancer la 30ième édition du Festival international de jazz de Montréal. Monsieur Wonder a offert ses meilleurs vœux pour la journée et a gentiment accepté de prendre quelques photos en compagnie des invités et du personnel du Consulat. Up on the cliffs overlooking the Treasury at Petra a bedouin offered tea from a cosy informal tea room he had set up in a small cave. Good tea and a great view. His generous hospitality was well received and our group offered him a good tip.

SALT LAKE CITY — The Utah National Guard hosted its 58th annual Veterans Day
concert Monday, Nov. 11, at 7 p.m. at the University of Utah’s Jon M. Huntsman Center.
The event included performances by the Utah National Guard’s 23rd Army Band, led by
Chief Warrant Officer Denny Saunders, and a 600-voice Granite School District high school
combined choir.
The program, entitled “The Profession of Arms,” highlighted the service and
professionalism of those who wear—or have worn—the uniform of our nation. Special
attention was also be given to families, spouses and loved ones who support our
servicemembers.
During the program, Zions Bank presented its fourth annual Veterans Service Award to
William Christoffersen, of Holladay, for his many years of service and support of military
veterans.
Also featured at this year’s concert is the Utah Guard’s partnership with the Utah PTA,
which recently held an essay contest for children of currently serving members of the
Armed Forces. The theme of the contest was “Why I Am Proud of My Veteran.”
The following students were selected as winners of the essay contest and will be recognized
at the concert:
Landon Mers, a third-grader at J. R. Smith Elementary, in Heber City
Megan Wahlquist, a seventh-grader at South Ogden Junior High School, in South
Ogden
Brynn Peterson, a freshman at Manti High School, in Manti.

Ahmed Raza Khan (Arabic: أحمد رضا خان, Persian, Urdu: احمد رضا خان, Hindi: अहमद रज़ा खान), commonly known as Ahmed Rida Khan in Arabic, or simply as "Ala-Hazrat" (14 June 1856 CE or 10 Shawwal 1272 AH – 28 October 1921 CE or 25 Safar 1340 AH), was an Islamic scholar, jurist, theologian, ascetic, Sufi, Urdu poet, and reformer in British India,[4] and the founder of the Barelvi movement.[5][6][7] Raza Khan wrote on numerous topics, including law, religion, philosophy and the sciences.
Early life and family
Ahmed Raza Khan Barelvi's father, Naqi Ali Khan, was the son of Raza Ali Khan.[8][9][10] Ahmed Raza Khan Barelvi belonged to the Barech tribe of Pushtuns.[9] The Barech formed a tribal grouping among the Rohilla Pushtuns of North India who founded the state of Rohilkhand. Khan's ancestors migrated from Qandahar during the Mughal rule and settled in Lahore.[8][9]
Khan was born on 14 June 1856 in Mohallah Jasoli, Bareilly Sharif, the North-Western Provinces. The name corresponding to the year of his birth was "Al Mukhtaar". His birth name was Muhammad.[11] Khan used the appellation "Abdul Mustafa" ("servant of the chosen one") prior to signing his name in correspondence.[12]
At the age of four he completed the recitation of the Quran[citation needed]. At the age of 13, he completed his Islamic Education as well as reached puberty after which he began issuing Fatwas[citation needed].
Khan saw an intellectual and moral decline of Muslims in British India.[13] His movement was a mass movement, defending popular Sufism, which grew in response to the influence of the Deobandi movement in South Asia and the Wahhabi movement elsewhere.[14]
Today the movement is spread across the globe with followers in Pakistan, India, Bangladesh, Turkey, Afghanistan, Iraq, Sri Lanka, South Africa, United States, and UK among other countries. The movement now has over 200 million followers.[15] The movement was largely a rural phenomenon when begun, but is currently popular among urban, educated Pakistanis and Indians as well as South Asian diaspora throughout the world.[16]
Many religious schools, organizations and research institutions teach Khan's ideas,[17] which emphasize the primacy of Islamic law over adherence to Sufi practices and personal devotion to the prophet Muhammad.

Lorenz & Fehse (2009), separate the animal forms of P. annabelae from P. brunneiterma by the bold red border around the mantle verrucae in the latter.
Draper & Churchill (2014) think they are mantle variations of the same species and that a study of the gene sequences by Schiaparelli et al (2005) demonstrated this.
