Milo perched above Honeoye Lake perplexed as to why I would even joke that we would get to see sheep on this adventure.
From Harriet Hollister Spencer Park. Honeoye Lake in the distance. I had hoped for more sun, but it's great to just look out from up there.
Took off for this marvelous park on impulse today. I remembered the place from 45 or more years ago. Good memory.
I get compliments of pictures of Honeoye Falls regarding the red buildings on the side of the falls. Sometimes you can get some of the red spreading out to the other side. It would be pretty hard to take a picture of this falls without some red somewhere.....and that's a very good thing!
Honeoye Falls (/ˈhʌniɔɪ/ HUN-ee-oy)[2] is a village within the town of Mendon in Monroe County, New York. The population was 2,674 at the 2010 census. The village includes a small waterfall on Honeoye Creek, which flows through the village and gives it its name. The name Honeoye comes from the Seneca word ha-ne-a-yah, which means lying finger, or where the finger lies. The name comes from the local story of a Native American whose finger was bitten by a rattlesnake and who therefore cut off his finger with a tomahawk.

I really thought more of the ice would be gone, but the area here has only had a day and a half of 40+ degrees thawing. Two days ago there probably wouldn't have been any open water at all.

Right in the middle of the town of Honeoye Falls, NY. I exposed only for the falls because of the super-bright sun. First waterfall for me in some time.
