Once upon a time our bathroom floor had these small black and white tiles. I wonder if that was before or after the owners decided to go with a CEMENT subfloor.

Most of the smaller stones have been removed from the wall, leaving a few very large stones. I haven't been able to pry them out but they are sandstone and many of the other smaller stones have broken already. I figure a few smacks with a sledgehammer will be able to break this down to size.
Don and Patricia can work together well as long as I am not in the picture--no pun intended. They are installing crown moulding into her bedroom.
kitchen project summer o6 - after old kitchen has been fully gutted out; we have put up the drywall at this stage and were in the process of mudding!
Aaron is an old friend from college. We haven't seen each other in almost 5 years. He was in Sedro Wooley for a training course, we decided to meet up and he volunteered to come help build a shed. What a guy!
Ian finally got a chance to hang our fancy light up in the foyer as well as a mirror and a coat rack thing I had. All that's left are The Little Prince sketches.
I got a (long) lesson on spackling plaster walls and repairing cracks...
Helpful Hint: This takes MUCH longer that spackling little holes in drywall. Surprise!
The heaters will be hung in a few days ago we need to paint the walls behind where they are going. Priming today. Painting tomorrow.
The top two sets of shims are probably the most important. By pushing the jambs the appropriate amount on each side at the very top, you can make sure the hinge side hangs straight down against the frame. Then you nail from top to bottom on the hinge side, putting shims in any time that there's a gap in between the jamb and the frame. The objective is to keep it as perfectly straight up and down as possible. If you do this wrong, your door will never swing right or sit in the opening nice and squarely.
4/5 of the fence has received a coat of stain (at left). Of course when I have the time to finish the project, that's when the sky wants badly to rain.
