Working on the half-bath room drove me half insane

Roller Blinds is a very popular type of blind that are made of plastic or other types of material. There are a wide variety of roller blinds that utilize various control systems for controlling the amount of light entering the room.

Okay. You know my mantra: We are not crackheads! Using the random pieces of click flooring I had acquired was looking very crackheaded. Even the ones that were supposed to go together, the red and yellow there, didn't go together right. So 30 boxes of 1'x1' Marmoleum squares in three colors have been ordered and what had been acquired and previously displayed is being discarded. Sorry that my $100 investment in scraps didn't work out but Stella Da Kat who owns the place got a year's supply of crunchies out of the deal. The new tile should be in today maybe?

This new picture rail above our bed makes me so happy.

Old backsplash - note brown caulking between tile and silestone counter

Here I am in the middle of the destruction.

Furnace.

This is a view of what will be our laundry area. Currently pantry/kitchen prep.

If you look up directly below the sink this faucet is held in place by two nuts and this C shaped metal place. losening the plate it slides out, and the faucet is loose!

Take apart the sink stopper thingy.. (the silver rod you see is that you pull up to stopper the sink) and the faucet is free to go.

Yay, new carpet instead of a black and white tiled floor!

I love all the room colors, but this one is especially hot.

A roller blind is an attractive type of blind covering that offers many advantages over other types of blinds. There are several different types of roller blinds that utilize a variety of sophisticated control systems to help you get the most out of your blinds.

Scratched-up floors

Got the other two sections up. And still had enough time to do some measurements, buy concrete, and plant the last post (behind shrub at right) so the final piece of fencing could be put up tomorrow.

See that crusty vehicle between the end of the fence and the shrub at far right? So can I, that's why I'm erecting this fence. :)

A close-up and not-well-lit look at the (not yet grouted) granite tiles of my new countertop.

We had these awful room darkening roller shades that were dark blue (?!) and were totally ripped to pieces. Now we've got these fancy-pants replacements that I like much much better.

My husband installed these for me as he is awesome!

and assembly dropped in. note unplanned but necessary replacement of shutoff valve as well (sigh)

Nice new cedar siding around the windows and door on the back of the house.

In fact, it looks so good, I wish I could clear coat it.

But the rest of the house is painted.

*sigh*

:(

A new shower curtain. We bought two shower curtains and sewed them together for the L shaped shower rod

For those who have followed the soffet saga (before and during), I want you to know that ceiling part of the soffet debacle has been resolved. A few days ago I primed, textured, and painted so now it pretty much matches the rest of the ceiling. Not 100% perfect but a vast improvement over what had been there.

No new light for over the sink has been chosen yet. The wall part of the soffet area hasn't been worked on, other than using drywall joint compound across where the board had been to smooth out how the seam between drywall sections hadn't been properly taped & mudded -- the window frame below this area needs some sort of repair cuz the vinyl window the previous people had put in was soooo badly cased that I'm going to have a contractor look at the window and tell me what can be done to make this pretty before I do much more than put primer paint on the yellow/bare drywall.

After removing the old door I found that the header had been chiseled out quite a bit to accommodate the door. I guess they didn't check their framing until they got around to installing the door and found it wasn't going to fit.

The kids and I are overhauling the living room. We've already pried off half of the 'barn wood,' and now we're beginning to work on those fake bricks behind the woodburning stove (which, after we reapir the wall will be replaced with some light gray stone tile). The barn wood areas (also after repairs) will be painted. I'm thinking a nice bright pale 'spiced pumpkin,' with a deep, pale, greyed-out blue in the hallway behind (thus this before picture; I'm really looking forward to how the orange and blue will play off of each other to differentiate the spaces...)

I'm outside the bedroom, touching up the wall. Cheddar is inside the bedroom, and decided that he didn't want to stay curled up on my bed because Interesting Things were happening out in the hall... things which he couldn't get to. It's hard to laugh and paint at the same time.

Here's what the den looked like after they dug the trench (about a foot and a half wide and a foot deep). As you can see, they also had to remove the drywall to a height of 32" from the floor.

A good hammer works everytime.

Lisa used the electric chainsaw to cut down the mostly-dead tree-of-heaven. A much more lively specimen (possibly with a common root structure) is to the right.

Finished Dining Room!

I decided to paint the boys room something other than white. They both really like blue, so we went with a soft sky blue. It looks darker here than it really is.

Now all that's left is to coat all the trim in two layers of primer and paint white to match the windows.

aux. gas shut-off valve.
