Ok, so I know they do not match, the color is pretty close in person, but I know the doors don't match at all. The orginal cabinets were purchased at Lowes or Home Depot off the shelf. I know because we looked at buying them 5yrs ago when we moved in. Well we procrastinated it, and they no longer carry the cathedral doors, so we purchased the plain doors and had dad stain them to match.
We got this painting framed; it's Stuart's favorite. Now it clashes with our entire bedroom. So we're re-doing the bedoom obvs.
In addition to completing the trim around the new front door I finally got around to trimming around the front closet. Now I just need to prime and paint the trim and another project is done.
I put a sheet of plastic over the vertical furring strips, and then secured horizontal strips with concrete anchors into the holes I drilled.
I often come home with an odd item found at a rummage sale or dumpster but Rick doesn't do that sort of thing. However, yesterday he came home with three $3 doors. The lumber supply company offered their old sample doors for $3 each. He had one cherry door with 6 glass panels, a 5 panel poplar door and a 3 panel oak door. The oak was my least favorite but it's a perfect fit for the back stairs out of the kitchen. This is the door loosely in place. Rick said that it might not be the door of my dreams and I said that it's the door of my personality.
Finally finished these two windows! There's some touchup left -- yesterday I reinforced all the corners of the left window but I want the glazing to set fully so until then the top sash is still nailed into place so it won't move. Once I take that out, I can finish painting the top of the bottom sash (which you can see is still white here). Next step: I'm getting an awning for these windows!!!
(Phase one was getting the woodstove removed from the fireplace and out of my home.)
I've completed the tiling of the hearth/frontpiece of my fireplace. It's anything but perfect because the cementing under the tiles was not level, but it looks pretty good from across the room.
Phase three, tiling over the painted-white brick (freakin' crackheads who lived here before me), begins tomorrow. Haven't purchased those tiles yet but some store advertised three sizes of matching creamy-greyish ceramic tiles on sale so I'm on it. Have awesome tile saw, not afraid to use.
One of the first considerations when choosing your living room curtains is how well the fabric is designed. If the fabric works best with furniture, choose the same fabric. If you are concerned about how the curtains will work with the walls, use curtains with different backing colors or even curtains with different backing textures.

Okay. You know my mantra: We are not crackheads! Using the random pieces of click flooring I had acquired was looking very crackheaded. Even the ones that were supposed to go together, the red and yellow there, didn't go together right. So 30 boxes of 1'x1' Marmoleum squares in three colors have been ordered and what had been acquired and previously displayed is being discarded. Sorry that my $100 investment in scraps didn't work out but Stella Da Kat who owns the place got a year's supply of crunchies out of the deal. The new tile should be in today maybe?
If you look up directly below the sink this faucet is held in place by two nuts and this C shaped metal place. losening the plate it slides out, and the faucet is loose!
Take apart the sink stopper thingy.. (the silver rod you see is that you pull up to stopper the sink) and the faucet is free to go.
I made this in order to test the flooring to make sure that I maintain the proper distance between wall and floor.

Got the other two sections up. And still had enough time to do some measurements, buy concrete, and plant the last post (behind shrub at right) so the final piece of fencing could be put up tomorrow.
See that crusty vehicle between the end of the fence and the shrub at far right? So can I, that's why I'm erecting this fence. :)
