Finally, after my 5th try, I successfully developed E6 without E6 chemistry!
I don't shoot much slide film, so I didn't want to invest in E6 chemistry, especially since it has a short shelf-life. I found out that E6 can be developed with B&W and C-41 chemistry, and since I do have both chemistry sets at home, I gave it a try. Specifically, I gave 5 tries to get to this point.
I was following the right procedure/steps before, but getting very dark positives, which were hard to scan. These should scan well in my Epson V550 now. For the specific chemicals I have, I had to extend times quite a bit. For the first development in B&W, I had to add 3 minutes, then for C-41, I had to double development to 7 minutes total and blix to 13 minutes total. I used Kodak D-76 and the Argentix (Unicolor) kit, all at 102°F/38C°.
I hope I can replicate the results and that this may help some people who might want to try something similar. Of course results may vary and some trial and error may be needed according to film stock and chemistry type.

Step 1, B&W
Kodak D-76 at 102°F/38°C, 15 minutes total, with 10 seconds initial agitation, then 4 inversions every 30 seconds.
Wash film - I use Ilford method of filling tank with water 3 times, inverting 5, 10 and then 20 times.
Step 2, Fogging
Take film out of tank and spool, and expose the emulsion side (side with image/textured/not shiny) to bathroom light for about a minute.
Step 3, Unicolor C-41 at 102°F/38°C
Load the film into the tank again. Developer for 7 minutes (same agitation method as Step 1), wash, Blix for 13 minutes, Ilford wash, Stabilizer for 1 minute, photo-flo and finally hang to dry.
