This male Eastern Bluebird was enjoying the comforts of home ownership. Probably working on a survival plan for the cold winter to come.

There is no place like home! But what exactly makes it a home? Is it the matching or non matching furnitures? Is it that old rug that's been there for who knows how long? But you do remember how it ended up there right?
Maybe what make it feel like home is not the material things after all but the memories connected to them and with the ones you shared that home with.
But what if I was always alone? Then what exactly is home?
No no no, you are never alone, each item around you has a life of it's own and sometimes they talk back to you...
It's true! My frying pan told me I put too much oil the other day, my toothbrush said I missed a spot... I mean, even the sanitizer on my table told me to get a new one because she's so fancy and 50% glitter! What the hell...
P.S. I am not crazy... Though my keyboard disagrees...

This log cabin is in the city park of Manhattan, KS. It is used a museum, it lots of the things inside that were used back in the 1800s.
When I look into his eyes, I don't see perfection. I don't see a love story that would necessarily be something people would watch on a big screen and dream about. I see someone who will fight for me and protect me and love me in spite of any of my short-comings and flaws. I see home. Wherever he is, that's my home...
This is a photo almost two years old that I for some reason never posted to Flickr, it did however remind me of the weather today in Iceland. That day I was driving home from Akureyri, normally about a 4 hour drive and the weather wasn´t all that great, but the wind blowing the snow over the road I thought would make an interesting photo so naturally I pulled over.
All the comforts of home for a relaxing eight legged Spider.
Pushing on that trigger is like pulling magic into my very soul...Darrell.
