A young father teaches his wee daughter about the joys and beauty of our home, planet Earth. Or in this case, the Snoqualmie River. :-)
Some left home so others wouldn't have to
Some helped so others could have home
Some made it back, some didn't
Some left the homeland behind
Some are left behind ... ...
Limone, Lake Garda, Italy
Sod the photo, I've finally found a way to solve my problem of wonky images with sloping horizons and waterlines... shoot everything from a moving boat!
This image of presumable someone's home or holiday home (most jealous) is as taken - dead centre, dead level (oh alright... I've cropped it a little but it's still central and level). Captured on the way back from Riva del Garda via Limone to Malcesine, this house is just north of Limone.
This male Eastern Bluebird was enjoying the comforts of home ownership. Probably working on a survival plan for the cold winter to come.

Our next guests are coming from the other side of the world to see this view. I know it's special. Guests from all over, tell us how they discovered somewhere magical here: the peace, pure Peace, like no where else.
The music of one band, must be the banjo, more than any other fills my mind with Highland spirit - more than Ardnamurchan whisky www.youtube.com/watch?v=OJJHhDqt1Q8&list=RDEMMSwzJaud...
This view is a part of the city we call home. But having sailed Georgian Bay for many years, I know that the workers on these freighters must be glad to call it home for a few weeks too. The waters can be very rough on the bay.
Yesterday my beautiful home of Nova Scotia was struck by tragedy. A gunman killed 17 people. This very opposite of what Nova Scotia is. Such a sad event
Checking out a new (to me!) lens: a Canon EM 18-150 before it was put back in its box to be wrapped up for Christmas!
I like to travel light and my current (& significantly heavier) Canon ES 28-105 needs a Viltrox adapter to fit the M50 making it a tad cumbersome & front heavy.
Hand-held at full zoom.
Stari Grad claims Marco Polo as a favorite son, and really, who could ask for a better one? Our tour didn’t stop at the store, but it makes a nice photo.
Happy Storefront Saturday!
Amtrak train #244 traverses down the Hudson River seen at Dobbs Ferry, NY. The two private cars on the rear of the train are on home rails as the New York Central railroad is the predecessor of the current day Hudson Line. This location on the line provides one access to a scene that incorporates both the Hudson River and famous aspects of New York City in the background. Two notable features of the city include the Empire State Building and the George Washington Bridge!
The first car apart from the Amtrak train is New York Central Tavern Lounge car #43. Built by the BUDD company in 1947 for use on multiple trains across the New York Central system.
The last car on the train is the New York Central 20th Century Limited Observation car "Hickory Creek." This car is from the tail end of the 1948 20th Century Limited and carried famous passengers such as Walt Disney, Frank Sinatra and Marilyn Monroe.
Today, both of these cars are in the hands of the United Railroad Historical Society of New Jersey and run under the section called "Hudson River Rail Excursions." The two cars can be seen on Amtrak trains 233 and 244 every Friday, Saturday and Sunday during the month of June 2022!
When I look into his eyes, I don't see perfection. I don't see a love story that would necessarily be something people would watch on a big screen and dream about. I see someone who will fight for me and protect me and love me in spite of any of my short-comings and flaws. I see home. Wherever he is, that's my home...
