Hannibal, Missouri is just a 20 minute drive from my hometown. I travel to Hannibal quite often to dine at one of their local restaurants. It's very easy to overlook the historical gem that Hannibal is when it's practically in my back yard so I try to SEE Hannibal now and then. This is the view looking down the sidewalk in front of the Mark Twain Boyhood Home and Museum. Since it's dark you can't see what's down the street but in the darkness is the Mississippi River. The Boyhood Home is just a few blocks from the river.
Thanks for stopping by and have a great day.

Underexposed but it works. I posted this on my instagram and it attracted a lot of attention. I am a big fan of this style but with film, I'd imagine it would be difficult to get these results.

Introducing a continuing LEGO series spanning the Trojan War of Achilles, Agamemnon, Hector and Paris to the decade long journey of Odysseus through the mythical Aegean Sea. I hope you enjoy my interpretation of Homer's Epic Poems. I also hope you learn a little bit about one of history's first incredible adventures.
So, a while back, the kidlet came home for a visit. She usually arrives by bus but we drive her back home, if only to have the opportunity to spend an extra few hours with her. (And to bring along stuff too big for her to transport.) Sometimes we'll squeeze in a quick meal with her before we head straight back home.
So this time, when we got home I found her message on the kitchen chalkboard...
I might never clean it again....
She has visited since, but the chalkboard has not changed. I just finally got around to framing it.
And, while I love the sentiment behind the image and I think the image itself is cute, I once again, have no clue why this would make EXPLORE.

I've seen people capturing beautiful bugs on beautiful plants but this time just wanted to see who's made this weed a home 😉

Home on a Hill is a new seed part challenge created by Windy City LUG. The goal is to create a micro city on one of the 32x32 canyon baseplates.
This was my entry, a new floating city of Atlantis over the ruins of the old land based one.
I designed it with UV flourescense in mind.
Just outside the city of Winnipeg and to be soon probaly gone. The challenge was to keep the new houses out of the shot

WEEK 43 – Southaven Burlington Relocation: Old Store, Set I
Whereas the center and right sides of the old store were dedicated to clothing, the left side – home to the dividing wall between the two halves of the former Super K – housed Burlington's home departments. We're looking at it from around the center of the store back up toward the front, so that's the front left corner you see off in the distance. While that area (in the distance) was pretty much always home to jewelry and perfume (at least as far as I can remember), the area in the foreground here shuffled merchandise a lot. I knew it best as the home décor and wall art department (as is shown), but over the years it also housed such items as kitchenware and, for a brief spell, even some food (a la the selection you might find at a TJMaxx). At the very end, home décor was either downsized or booted altogether in favor of a combined, relocated shoe department.
Behind me, meanwhile, were the bath and bedding departments, as well as clearance and a set of restrooms.

These places are public so these photos are too, but just as I tell where they came from, I'd appreciate if you'd say who :)

We went into an empty baseball field the other day and tried to jog a little to get some exercise. I, of course, with my camera couldn't to take some photos of the field. Here, I tried to take this shot wide open.

This is a massive development in Saanich, which is home to the Home Depot. This is the old Save on Foods grocery store that's been now torn down.
I created this photo due to Nick Johnson's (aka ShuddahBug Photography) contest on Instagram. The theme is "Home", and he wants us to show our definiton of home kinda. He always has a map that he puts a marker on the location of every entry, so if you havn't already go check out the contest at @shuddahbug at instagram!

|INSTAGRAM| |FACEBOOK| What’s your dream home? To me, a home with a great view that creates a thrill of excitement to keep my tripod always open & ready. I was lucky enough to witness that view. Every day I came home with the excitement of watching the dance of this unique view with clouds, sunset, light and sky. Lauren finished repainting the home office. I picked up a second knee-space credenza (needed the storage and desktop space). I'm much happier with the new layout.
You can view the original setup here.
I'm much happier with the new layout. I still need to tidy up cables, which I will, and pick up a flat-panel to replace the tube TV. The SonicWALL router still needs deployment, too, but all that'll be done within a week, I suspect.
How many PCs and servers do you see? There are five here (with room for at least three more client systems at any given time).

Every week my gardener comes and says, almost all the leaves have fallen. Now the gold and maroon leave have dropped, and the only one left is the Dogwood to the right of the garage. It will drop sometime after Christmas.
Everyone who walks by my house, says it is so beautiful. I appreciate my gardener.

The ability of Tibetans to function normally in the oxygen-deficient atmosphere at high altitudes - frequently above 4,400 metres (14,000 ft), has often puzzled observers. Recent research shows that, although Tibetans living at high altitudes have no more oxygen in their blood than other people, they have 10 times more nitric oxide and double the forearm blood flow of low-altitude dwellers. Nitric oxide causes dilation of blood vessels allowing blood to flow more freely to the extremities and aids the release of oxygen to tissues. What is not yet known is whether the high levels of nitric oxide are due to a genetic mutation or whether people from lower altitudes would gradually adapt similarly after living for prolonged periods at high altitudes. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tibetan_people
The Tibetan Plateau is an immense upland, some 3500 by 1500 kilometers in size, averaging more than 5000 meters in elevation. It includes almost all the world's territory higher than 4000 meters. Its southern rim, the Himalaya-Karakoram complex, contains not just Mount Everest and all 13 other peaks higher than 8000 meters, but hundreds of 7000-meter peaks each higher than anywhere else on Earth.
The Tibetan Plateau is not just the largest, highest area in the world today; it may be the largest and highest in all of geologic history. That's because the set of events that formed it appears to be unique: a full-speed collision of two continental plates.
