Heard about this family of owls while shopping. Went home to grab my camera ... the family stayed in the lawn and garden area for a while.

today jie had her third haircut since she was born.

the first one was full moon...when she was thirty days old. just a symbolic customary knip. she did not have much hair then anyway.

the second one...i think when she was four and a half years old. it was not easy convincing her to have the haircut. then she kinda aspired to rapunzel.

she is going to have her fourth haircut soon. she is going to primary school in january.

jie is turning seven.

MY FOREVER PET

There's something missing in my home,

I feel it day and night,

I know it will take time and strength

before things feel quite right.

But just for now, I need to mourn,

My heart -- it needs to mend.

Though some may say, "It's just a pet,"

I know I've lost a friend.

You've brought such laughter to my home,

and richness to my days.

A constant friend through joy or loss

with gentle, loving ways.

Companion, friend, and confidante,

A friend I won't forget.

You'll live forever in my heart,

My sweet, forever pet.
