Inspiration Song for this picture: IBIZA SUMMER MIX 2021

Landscapework by my Man: Marvin Graycloud

We love our home it is just dreamy ♥.♥ I love to listen to the sound of the sea to feel the sand under my feet pure relaxation ♥.♥

In 1994, one of the most unique rail operations in Oregon was Burlington Northern's local from Albany to Foster. The train served a former Oregon Electric branchline that was isolated from the rest of the BN/OE. To access the trackage, BN trains had to travel over shortline Willamette Valley Railway, which had leased Southern Pacific's line from Albany to Mill City the previous year. BN trains used the Mill City route as far as Lebanon, where their line to Foster diverged.

Not only was the trackage exotic, but the train had perhaps the best name for a local in Oregon - the "Sweet Home Logger." In this image, the Logger is arriving at its namesake town, passing the log pond at the Willamette Industries sawmill. Ten years earlier, I might have shot the GP39 in Klamath Falls. During the mid-80s, BN ran them in sets of three on trains down to the Union Pacific interchange at Bieber, California.

Big changes will come in a few years. During 1998, the owners of WVR split up their disconnected operations. The Willamette Valley name stayed with former SP trackage to the north between Woodburn and Stayton. A new company, the Albany & Eastern, was formed to operate the former WVR line at Albany. Also in 1998, the new AERC purchased the isolated Lebanon to Foster line from BN successor BNSF.

Willamette was taken over by Weyerhaeuser in 2002. The sawmill at Sweet Home was a casualty of the merger. AERC trains still pass this way, but the Sweet Home mill is long gone.

I found this home quite by accident.. I was going the back roads to the wetlands in Forest Grove and went by the golf course and found a cemetery called Blooming.. I took a few pictures there and then came back to the golf course and since I didn't really have a map turned north thinking I would end up in Cornelius.. Well the very next road I came to was the Fernhill road and that's where I was going so decided to see what the building was a little ways on north and it was a church and this beautiful home... Come to find out this and another house was all that was left of a little community called Blooming... Then I retraced back to the Fernhill Road and wound up at the Fernhill wetlands.. Wonderful area... Happy Window Wednesday, Everybody!!

As the theme is to show part of home town, Ottawa, the Canadian Capitial is home to 900,000 people, but also has 80% of it's land mass in rural areas. While the downtown core with it's parliament and other landmark has been done countless time, I thought this was a slice of my city that is rarely associated with it.

Much better for the eyes and soul in the light box.

It's been a long time since Nikki and I last saw a movie in a theater. As you know, Zorie isn't old enough to stay on her seat until the movie ends. I have had the projector for several years and now we use it as if we were in a cinema. Now, it's very convenient to see movies at home and we won't be worried if Zorie keeps asking questions about the movie or something.

Covid Boredom™ has some funny results. I took up baking. This is a loaf of "Back-of-the-bag Oatmeal Bread" that I made at home today.

thursday.

today during our udon lunch at aeon mall jie and sui...hmm...sheepishly...asked me what is the camera i want most...now...

i said none..and looked at them suspiciously. sui then added: don't worry we are not going to buy a camera for your birthday...

ok then...

i have been really reliant on the TX-1 these days so i figured i would need another one as a backup...

...but since i have bought another one late last year so there is really none that i need or want...

...i told them...but...

...if you are thinking of drawing me a camera then maybe...draw me either a hasselblad or SL66 aka the big fat lady...

so jie chose the hasselblad because it is the 120mm camera of choice that had followed us to many overseas trips...

when we got home i quickly put the chrome c lens on my 500cm and let jie have a go at it...

after jie has finished the first draft it suddenly struck me that...jie...if i had to go out now to get a camera set this would be it and you can draw me that...

a leica m six classic with fifty mm summicron...

both made in germany...of course...

these are lazy days of mine. as i'm not good enough at props (i should be as teoretically i "know" how to create them), there's not such a paradise out there than a furniture/props shop which is things are outdoor lol.
