My perennials have had a sweet rest all winter...it will be time to wake up soon. Yay for spring!

I finally got the vehicle inside and away from advancing winter and road salt.

I did these three hibernation pieces for my Photo Concentration Class. The "prompt" was time, maps, or travel. These are depicting the time aspect because time passes as you hibernate.

I took a couple of photos of these dead/dried Sheep's Sorrel yesterday - they were being blown around like mad, so to stop the movement I used flash.

When I got home and viewed the pictures on my laptop, I noticed two ladybirds hibernating.....I didn't spot them when I was taking the photo - nice surprise ;-)

not a very good photo, but posted it to let you see the ladybirds......

The riverbed sleeps most of the year during the day but come fall the power authority releases large amounts of water and the Salmon River Falls awakens. The problem with this is they typically only do it at night for safety reasons. I can't imagine being on top and seeing a wall of water much like a Lord of the Rings scene....There must be some way to photograph this monster during a release.

The ones we saw were pretty active, actually.

The view from my cave. It's been the coldest winter I can remember since I was in high school.
