Ephi is a little human girl who was adopted by Meeri the giant fox spirit when she was a baby now they watch over each other through the long winters in their cozy tree home.
The harbor at Port Morien...empty now, but in the warmer months it's full of fishing boats...the building in red is the local fish plant and is the center of activity here...H Hopkins Ltd. processes some of the best tasting lobster in the world in that building...anyone for a lobster boil next summer? :o)

The days are shortening again but not quite enough yet. This poor
cameleon orb died after awakening too early. Back to the test tube lab
to create another.....
The workshop of the East Broad Top Railroad is just a stunning piece of history. Go to either www.eastbroadtop.com or www.febt.org to read up on this historic landmark in Pennsylvania. It's well worth reading up on this important historic site! If you can help out with funds or labor, they are intending to get back up and running as a non-profit operation!
Inspiration getting ready for deep hibernation… it’s cold, I’m feeling like getting under my warm blanket and sleep until spring birds will wake me up with their morning tweets. But now I’m going to enjoy my colourful magical dreams, letting my inspiration fly through the night.
The nature of the Reutumer Weuste nature reserve in hibernation.
De natuur van het natuurgebied Reutumer Weuste in winterslaap.
When not a single flake of snow is left, the streams are like frozen highways through the forest. Frozen solid underfoot, a few degrees is all that separates me from walking home with wet feet. I did, in fact, just a few seconds later, after putting too much trust in a thin spot of ice. Healey's Brook is resistant, never giving easily to turning solid, pushing through the coldest days with still small pockets of open ripples. I can't help feeling taken by the side-to-side swaying, the rhythm of water slipped into slow motion. The colours really shake me, all the blues and whites and yellows, the latter from leaking tannins, making a tea of the forest floor. This will be a sleepy stream by midsummer, but it's strong enough now to wrap around me, and give a sense of just how much warmth the winter can kill. It's a murder worth making, a heartfelt hibernation, and a good way of earning spring.

I MUST GO HERE!
Ok. I have decided that the hibernation has lasted long enough.
I am constantly asked about how I create the Ball of Light images. Obviously any one who spends any time here on Flickr knows that making an Orb is relaitively easy. What light source do I use? What camera settings do I use? How do I get the background so bright?
These are daily questions I get. BUT, making a Ball of Light image is about SO much more than those things.
Firstly it is about the moment for me mainly. Getting away from the city. Exploring new places. Learning about stuff!
SO, I have decided to make a diary of a trip and shoot. From concept through planning, traveling and executing the shoot.
I hope that this exersize will help anyone wanting to shoot like this get out and do it. Along the way you might pick up a few pointers. But mostly you will see the amount of work that goes into the basic stuff.
The type of LED's i use are so irrelevant to the final product it is crazy, and I hope to show that this is the case. However, watch closely and I am sure some valuable technical stuff will be gained.
SO the first thing is a concept. I saw the photo above by chance, and was immediately drawn to it. I realised pretty quickly that it is in Australia, and decided that I dodnt care where it was, I was going to get there. It looked interesting. It looked colourful and most of all it looked unique. All things I think about when planning a location.
I hope you enjoy this project, and most importantly I hope that you gain something for your own work. And are encouraged to make the most of what we are given.

Day 7: Express Yourself
By the time the holidays are over, I'll be ready to go to bed for a week! How about you?
BAM, Round 2
{342/365}
You've stirred them!
(With that spoon),
Oh that spoon,
That you wield
Like a sword
It grew on the tree
Natural, there for a reason
And you let it hang for so long
And you opened your umbrella,
(Which you'll shut now),
As if you could deflect them all
But you've woken them,
Those old rushes
And the slow dancing on that night
Your thoughts
Shine
And effervesce
And you've left them vacant for so long
As if you could catch feeling too much
Like a cold
Or a sore throat
(Which you can)
And now you know you'll feel
All of them,
So
You ponder
Why did you leave them still for so long?

Little early this week. It's a nice change.
Snow's finally leaving, and yet, this is so pensive, still waiting for spring...
I'm really digging Yo La Tengo (See the last link on the page~), and the new Pokemon game. YES. I am a nerd. A huge nerd. Swoobat is my current favorite, although it changes every day, depending on what I'm doing... ( See? )
Yeah. I picked THAT one and just made that statement a whole lot nerdier. Also, I'm actually taking time to do quick sketches of each one...
Nerd.
I am okay with that.

Perhaps I am a bear, or some hibernating animal underneath, for the instinct to be half asleep all winter is so strong in me.

Back from hibernation...
I finally found some time to build, and I wanted to try making a starfighter, for the "Show Us What You Got" contest, even if I don't have much chance of winning. I'm not too good at writing backstories but I'll give it a shot...
The BluJaye RS-13 Starfighter is a short ranged starfighter deployed late in the Rakorian Wars by Republic Navy. BlueJaye fighters are speedy and evasive targets and they often attack in large swarms . It's too small to feature an integrated hyperdrive, it requires a transportation into combat zones by spacecraft carriers. BlueJaye fighters are often unleashed from warship hangars in large swarms, and were one of the most numerous starfighters in the Republic Navy late in the Rakorian Wars. While they lack range and firepower, they make up for in raw speed and agility.
Stay tuned for more...
