Horseshoe bats (family Rhinolophidae) are a large family of bats including approximately 130 species grouped in 10 genera. They belong to the suborder Microchiroptera (microbats). The Rhinolophidae family is sometimes divided into two families, the Rhinolophidae (horse-shoe bats) and Hipposideridae (Old World leaf-nosed bats). There is little question that these two groups of bats are closely related, but current practise is to classify them as subfamilies (Hipposiderinae and Rhinolophinae) in a single family. Many species are extremely difficult to distinguish. All rhinolophids have leaf-like protuberances on their noses. In rhinolophines species, these take the shape of a horseshoe; in hipposiderine, they are leaf- or spear-like. They emit echolocation calls through these structures, which may serve to focus the sound. Most rhinolophids are dull brown or reddish brown in color. They vary in size from small to moderately large. from wikipedia......taken in Keloglan Cave,Denizli/Turkey without flash while they were hibernating.
Merlion is in hibernation (in its own hotel) and so am I in observance of the Holy Week. See you all at Easter Sunday my flickr friends.
Photoshoot with Idol Tito Verano. It has been awhile since I last have a shoot with him. Nice to see you again, Tits! :D
We happened to meet Etharanz later after his JP Morgan marathon. What a reunion! :D
SOOC except resizing and minor contrast/saturation adjustments only.
An all too common sight at Lučko Airfield (LDZL) in winter: a bare apron, an empty circuit - and a gorgeous fiery sunset behind the Žumberak Hills as yet another storm system approaches, blown in by a fiercely cold northern wind...
"It's thought that hibernation was once a shared characteristic among all mammals, and then we humans lost the ability to hibernate — but it still might be in our genes." Steven Swoap

After a day of margin, a government decree almost paralyzes the country's economic activity, putting it in "Pause" mode. The almost zero circulation of vehicles on the streets and highways shows this paralysis.
It didn't rain today, and I had a few hours of nice sunlight^^
For CSaw, who said he/it needed more photo time XD
The falling snow is too beautiful to miss out on with hibernation!
Actually it was darn cold! Minus 30 something celcius with the windchill but it was snowing and I wanted to get this photo, so the dog and I went out for a short walk. Got a couple quick shots and back in the house to do our own "hibernating". After all that, the falling snow didn't end up showing up in the photo as well as I'd have liked...oh, well, at least I got the shot. :)

Whilst walking along the River Stour on my recent trip to John Constable country I was fortunate enough to come across this rare sight of a "fleet" of boats hibernating !!!!
Having a long walk with my little granddaughter Sarah, we also visited the trees, you have seen so often. (Sarah was sleeping in her pram like a little bear in his cave. So I couldn´t take a photo of her.)
I hope, you had a better weather! And I also hope, you had a great New Year´s Eve!
Enjoy the first day of the year 2007!
The Communist Party of India (Marxist) (abbreviated CPI(M) or CPM) is a political party in India. It has a strong presence in the states of Kerala, West Bengal and Tripura.
The structure
The Politburo (PB)
The Central Committee (CC)
State Committees
District Committees
In 2011 assembly elections, the CPI(M) led coalitions lost the assembly elections in Kerala and West Bengal. In West Bengal, CPI(M) alliance with 62 seats suffered a setback after 34 years of continuous rule, losing to Trinamool Congress alliance's 226 seats.
There is a criticism that the reason why Left Front got defeated in West Bengal is, among other things, the present state leaders deviated from communist policies and principles.
