Hastings Electronics and Radio Club members Phil G3MGQ, Mike M0EDU, Peter G0FUU and Steve 2E0GHX, setting up HERC operations at St. Richard's Catholic College in Bexhill on April 17th, the day prior to the college's ARISS contact with Tim Peake. The afternoon went very well and we were treated extremely well as usual by Dr. Joolz Durkin, the college's lead Science Teacher. A busy day leading into a fantastic one for St. Richard's, and we are proud to be a part of this amazing event. RSGB display stands shown in some images pending a few tweaks tomorrow (18th April 2016), Mike M0EDU's Amateur Radio History display, and the HERC G6HH station kindly organised and implemented by Phil G3MGQ. G6HH here running on a full G5RV. We are also pleased to be working in co-operating with FISTS CW, as an affiliated club and hope to work a mixture of CW and voice on contact day.

This RMAF Hercules, M30-09 was originally a C-130H-MP and employed in the Maritime Patrol role. I'm not sure if it still retains this designation or role, but it was on hauling materiel duties at LIMA25

Marine Corps Air Station Iwakuni hosted friendship day May 5, 2016. Since 1973, MCAS Iwakuni has conducted a single-day air show and open house specifically designed to foster positive relationships between the air station and our Japanese hosts, and the event traditionally draws more than 200,000 visitors and participants. This year is the 40th Friendship Day, offering a culturally enriching experience that displays the mutual support that the U.S. and Japan share. This annual event showcases a variety of static displays, aviation performances and demonstrations, and provides food and entertainment for guests of the largest single-day event in Iwakuni. NASA's NC-130H serial number 65-0979, Airborne Science Program aircraft at Wallops Flight Facility in Chincoteague, Va. Now registered N439NA, the aircraft was previously modified for the Air Force's Advanced Tactical Laser program. Though most of the markings are painted over, it still bears the tail band of the 46th Test Wing at Eglin AFB, Fla. The aircraft arrived at Wallops in June 2013, and was first used for vegetation surveys in Greenland. NASA still plans to modify and upgrade the aircraft, and hopefully give it a paintjob.
