my pets don't want me to know.....the truth so they jump on the scale with me.

One of Loki's favorite things to do is to help bring in the groceries. Here he gets a reward. The wine box.... bottles removed first!

Some parts of the Coast Path have a plethora of mileage signs like this section from Cape Cornwall to Sennen Cove. The signs seemed to be placed every quarter of a mile or so, so progress checking was very easy!

Thur. 16th Nov - Walpole to Northcliffe

133kms 2135m

Our lady at the hotel was a bit of a boozer! There was a bottle of wine finished and at least 3 Jack and cokes in the bin. She was very generous and helpful though. I took advantage of the pod coffee in the evening and toast in morning to supplement my weetbix.

There was one more emu encounter. I was a bit worried as the chick wouldn’t leave road and I just kept chasing them further down the track! Eventually it saw sense and I sailed past.

Next was a herd of sheep encounter, they had escaped their field. I felt bad as couldn’t get in front of them for about 1 km and just kept pushing them further and further up the road away from the field! They did about 1km before I got ahead!

I met Dave from UK originally who lived in Adelaide. He’d only met 6 people on his whole trip N2S.

I did a side trip up Mt Frankland, maybe a bit foolish for what was already a long day to fit in an extra 10 kms uphill! There were great 369 views after a final few hundred metres ladder and step climb to the top!

When I came down I discovered a slow flat yikes! This was going to be the start of some more tyre trouble!

It was Fernhook falls for lunch where I needed to pump the tyre again! The day seemed like it was slow going and I thought it would be a late finish.

It worked out about every 10 to 15 kms I needed to pump, but with 50 kms left I decided to try to make it rather than fix a punctured tube. I had no new ones left.

The knee started to give me grief. This was going to be the start of another ongoing saga!

Getting close to Northcliffe the flies started flying getting bad with all cattle around, they are a pain getting in your eyes and elsewhere! I also encountered my first pea gravel, I definitely don’t feel comfortable traveling downhill at speed , it feels very wobbly! The last 150 kms of Munda Biddi will be interesting, this is where the gravel is meant to be its worst.

Sid’s Bush camp, where I stayed, was very cool and rustic. It was off the grid. Solar for hot water and some charge points for usb devices. The water was rain water, apart from toilets that was off colour, so presumably recycling from somewhere.

The payment for sites was an honest system. They sold farm products all on an honest system. I grabbed an avocado for breakfast.

I met Tess and Emily. Tess was riding and Emily came to met her and spend 2 nights with her. They gave me beers, it was Swan. I didn’t think it would be up to much but it tasted good maybe because I’d cycled 130 km with a 2100m climb). And then they cooked me dinner! They had extra they said. Emily cooked an great lentil and sweet potato curry that paired nicely with cous cous.

We fixed my punctures hopefully and Tess fixed hers so a productive evening too!

All in all it was a lovely evening and a great spot, an inspired choice to stay!

So far I’ve seen in total. The FB page said you’d be lucky to see a couple! I think going counter to most people makes a difference.

Here Dad, let me close this for you!

Although this person may have had the right idea initially, cleaning up after their pet and then leaving the bag near the sidewalk - maybe 30 feet from a garbage can - is worse than if they had simply left it alone. Although pet waste is also a pollution issue, adding the plastic bag is much worse, as that will not biodegrade.

Helpful to plot out what you want to get done throughout the year. It's startling how short a year is. Good opportunity to use the new Signal stickers Julian ordered (albeit the logo is sitting upside down)

This guy is driving me nuts with all his questions that have no bearing at all on what we are learning and just wastes more of our whole two hours to learn.

1. My sustained investigation statement is the Negative Effects of Humans on their Environment.

2. The materials I used are my camera and this sprinkler.

3. I interpreted my sustained investigation by showing that this sprinkler may look helpful to the surrounding grass, but someone had to dig up the grass to install the sprinkler.

4. I experimented with capturing different angles of the sprinkler, but found this angle best.

Why yes, that trail does look more difficult.
