I cannot believe that all the time and effort expended in rail safety will accomplish anything.

I feel so sad to write this.
After 17 happy years my cat Vicky got terribly sick beyond help and my parents had to put her down. She's had the usual ailments most older cat's get yet could still run around the house all crazy-like, hold conversations, and purr happily as you pet her all the while chewing on her tail.
Like no other cat I've had she's the most pycho unique:
Tabby known as "Smoked" with the softest fur I've ever known and bright white if combed backward. As a kitten she'd kneed not only on blankets but my hair, arm and even neck once. A fav spot to sleep was near my head on another pillow. Sunspots on the carpet or a heater vent near a window is where we'd often find her. Anywhere warm even a hot garage in the middle of the summer- she'd snooze. She never got along with male cats, would mark her territory inside and out as if male, and loved to roll in the dirt. Her favorite toys were tennis balls and shoestrings she'd carry in her mouth and call all around the house looking for a cat or child to play with. Also loved playing chase with all the kids my mom used to daycare.
Oh and leather! When describing to friends I'd introduce Vicky as the "Pycho Cat with a gender complex(male marking traits), a talker with a leather fetish." She's ruined a fair share of high heels and bags with her love. To this day I still find her hair on my bags she'd nap on. Somewhere along the line she had one canine tooth removed so she looked like a silly 1 toothed vampire when smiling.
So many more memories. One of the things I'll miss the most is her welcoming me each time I'd come home to my parents. Perked up from a nap she's prance over talking the whole time until I've calmed her down with a good petting or combing session.
I'll miss her.

Every photoshoot I try to do in my house involves a few extra "helpers" I don't always anticipate. Usually including one helper of the 120+-pound, black, furry kind, but not always.

John Wagner was delivering his route and had just pulled up to a mailbox when he heard a faint, tiny voice calling “help me.” The resident at this address is Helen Sadek, an elderly lady in her 80’s and long time friend of Wagner’s family. Wagner safely parked and secured his vehicle, then found the woman on the ground lying beside her car. She had fallen on the slippery surface and was unable to get up. She said she had tried to get up several times but the icy surface just made her slide farther into the snow. Her clothing was wet from lying in the snow. Wagner said it took some doing to get her up and off the ground; she was cold, wet and had injured her tailbone. Wagner succeeded in helping her into her home, collected her purse and belongings lying around the car, and called for help. He stayed with her for about half an hour, until she said that she would be OK until her family came. She recovered from her bruised tailbone; suffering some stiffness and soreness, but wonders how long she would have been on the ground in the wet and cold had Wagner not come along and heard her. Last October 6, 2010, members of the Lasallian community at De La Salle
University- Dasmarinas in Cavite, Philippines joined the world in an
advance celebration of the 10/10/10 Global Work Party initiatives in support
for the international call to action for the reduction of CO2 emissions to
350parts per million.
Students from the volunteer organization Students' Extension of Resources
Through Voluntary Efforts(SERVE) rode their bikes within the 27 hectare campus
and distributed leaflets to spread the campaign to the general studentry. To add
up to this, they also managed to set up a freedom board wherein students
are encouraged to post different ways and ideas to help reduce one's carbon
emission. A handprint board was also prepared so that students and employees
alike can stamp their paint -soaked hands as support for the 350 campaign.
A mass sponsorship was also carried out in the University Chapel in coherence
with the global campaign which was supported by various offices within the
campus including the Lasallian Community Development Center(LCDC), Environmental
Resource Management Center(ERMAC), Campus Ministry Office, and Chaplain's
Office. After the Holy Communion, a slideshow presentation with regards to the
350 campaign as well as the university's efforts to mitigate climate change
impacts was shown to the hundreds of students present that day within the
chapel. The students also signed up their names and contact details to hundreds
of miniature paper pinwheels as support for the Greenpeace South East Asia's
local campaign for an Energy [R]evolution target of 50% Renewable Energy
Pilipinas by 2020.
Students can also calculate their individual carbon footprints through the ERMAC
office which is in line with the University's Project Carbon Neutral. The ERMAC
also handles the One Million Trees Project and Beyond wherein the different La
Salle Schools in the Philippines aims to plant 1million trees by 2011 in line
with La Salle's Centennial Celebration.
The time for an Energy [R]evolution is Now! Lasallians, Let's Go Renewable!
This is a large push to help remind our class of 1975 that we have a re-union in October. I never took down Halloween in my garage from last year because my brain is going ….WHY. Time goes by so fast anymore. By the time I put it away I’ll have to put it back out. It took me until it got warm to take down Christmas lights. So if you are even a little bit like me, you know it is almost October and time for our reunion. This is just something I can do to help promote the event. Teresa Fite Goodale is heading the event up. If you ever want to be taken for granted try to run an event! Sometimes people think invites are supposed to show up out of nowhere like a person in charge of them somewhere is watching them move from house to house their entire lives. If they don’t get an invite I have heard people actually complain. I would have come but why didn’t I get an invite. Well, we get older. People drop off the face of the earth with old mailing lists in their secret bag. You have basically never told anyone that was on the Student Council your new address. You really want privacy but want to be invited to things. Or you aren’t on facebook. There is no rule that says everyone has to Facebook. Face it some of us can’t stand each other but most of us try! Especially our class of 1975! You don’t have to sit with anyone you don’t like. You have to share this information because I have blocked some people and know we are not all on the same friend’s list. Then they have to be contacted old school, pot luck style. So those of us on Facebook can't take for granted what I have found out doing our photos. Probably %50 of us are still not computer oriented. Some don’t even have computers. Lots of those that do have computers hate emails and Facebook. So get out the word any way you can and rattle some cages. Send Teresa any updates you have for yourself and others, because it’s all HER fault if you don’t get invited!

I have another push. Curt Fowler and I have a cool Photo Group we call South Rowan Photo Group. www.facebook.com/groups/srphotogroup/
You don’t have to be from The South Rowan area. We concentrate on Photography and Video. We would like for you to join the group especially if you are taking a lot of photos. Lots of you have cool interesting lives and we want to see how others live. It is also nice to go to one place and see photos of beautiful people and places in one place without having to surf 1,000 profiles. Sometimes one of us may give a critique of a very sentimental photo only because many of us have spent thousands of dollars and many years of our lives in the Dark Room and learning the new Digital techniques. Many of us need photo advice, especially me! None of us know everything about this new technology but I have invited members that are really close to it and are kind enough to offer help. You don’t have to be a pro. We just ask you participate. We have 200 members and out of that 30 of us consistently like to see articles and view each other’s work. I’d like to increase the shares. That means sometimes in your computer world you take an extra step and share your photo to our group. www.facebook.com/groups/srphotogroup/
I am getting ready to get busy with some travel and am getting spread a little thin. So I need a little help. Our group has many seasoned professionals from all over the world that have published books, make a full-time living with photography and a part-time living. Some are in The Broadcast news business. We have award winners and we have people connected to the movie world. The I-Phone photos are getting good enough that many of us can’t tell the difference from what camera took the photo. Many of our seasoned photographers love to use their phone cameras. Here is the link. It may take us a few days to get to the invite because I also scan the group for spammers. Thanks, Shane www.facebook.com/groups/srphotogroup/
Relief by Chris Garneau - This song really pushed me to do this photo. It reminds me of a toxic relationship... you know it's best to stop seeing that person but you just aren't strong enough to. They felt so good... and you're not ready to let it go, that one little good thing almost out shines all the bad they put you through. When you touch them, it's hard to pull yourself back out of that hazey dream. You're so deeply entangled in that amazing feeling. But when you let go of each other. The reality starts to sink back in... he/she's the one who cheated/abused you. It's hard to realize your worth sometimes. But you are better then staying with someone who is phyiscally abusive or mentally or even cheating. Nobody deserves to be treated like dirt. Find the strength and let them go. It kills me to see people not realizing their worth and allowing others to walk all over them.
Dedicated to a handfull of people i love and care about.

I took Pearl to work with me today - she helped by checking how wet the dirt was after the sprinklers went off....she was a very big help!
A multipurpose public building in Helper, Utah holds, among other things, a public library. I found the architectural style interesting, particularly the rounded corners and upward swirl of the windows found there, probably following a turned interior staircase. The glossy black statue on the far left is a tribute to the area's mining heritage.
Helper is named for the railroad engines which assisted or "helped" push trains loaded down with coal up the steep slopes to the north and on toward places like Salt Lake City. Helper has always been a gritty working town, although less so these days. Anything apparently went on here during the heydays of mining with a number of local hotels and clubs sporting brothels, the last only closing their doors in the 1970s.
Help, mijn vriend is ondernemer!
John is legalised by Solon.
During my work I recently received this letter smuggled off board a vessel in the Port of Rotterdam.
Some of the crew members of the Japanese owned vessel went to the shop in my van. When I brought them back to their shop a few hours later it all seemed normal. Until one of these guys ran back to my bus and quickly handed the original of this to me, with a ask for help. Then he ran off again.
We offcourse contacted the ITF and handed them the original letters. I really hope these guys get some help.
Name of the vessel is blacked out, for privacy reasons. On request I can send you a direct copy of the original letter.
