mama in her jammies follows Chai up the stairs. first she checks the fire so that Boo stays warm the rest of the night. then the lights go off and Boo is given a good night kiss.
Chai is in bed and mama slips in too and she remains awake for a while. then they both settle down.
the daddy and Louie Louie and Marina in the downstairs bedroom heard nothing. a modern miracle. Nellie stayed upstairs on the couch.
then about 2 am it got quiet again.

**a little reminder. the donations to Ukraine are waning after the first flush when the war started. people are still in need of food, medical care, and clothing. sustenance.
animals need help.
I gave a little last month through CNN; this month I gave through ActBlue. I can't afford much but I can afford some. we are so much better off than the people struggling there.
I think even a little bit would help if everyone contributed.
Jane decided to help me to work on a lens by inspecting and then stealing my screwdrivers.

Happy Teddy Bear Tuesday
The snow is deep in places which is extra hard on these hunters and on me when I try to get in closer. I know, another owl pic, that's mainly all the wildlife I'm finding around here. I don't have time to check daily, but I try to drive around at least once a week. This one was about 10 miles from my place. Still haven't spotted the one on my property. A bald eagle flew over the house so I suspect that is who took the owl out.
I didn't know decorating the chrismastree was this difficult.

A 4-pack of mid-train helpers lead by MRL 4319 assist a freight train around the iconic horseshoe trestle at Skyline Trestle on Mullan Pass.
Had a go at trying for a macro shot of one of these amazing little creatures. It was sitting outside my window ledge. I had good natural light which helped. I think I got as close to the spider as my lens would allow (which is 295 mm from my subject to the sensor of my camera). Worth enlarging.
This little chap decided to watch me taking part in doing a 24 hour Common Guillemot Feeding watch. This is where I monitor the colony, counting the chicks every 20 minutes, recording the times each bird comes back with the fish, The Identity and the size of the fish in relationship to its bill length.
We even recorded any other notes such a chick predation and any chicks that fledge.
...ho scoperto questo nuovo mondo. Quello delle miniature. Mi spaventa un poco perché è immenso e temo di perdermici... Proviamo!
