The R-LAUBOZ tackles the grade up Bozeman Pass at O'Rea Creek Road with five MRL units leading. The three lead locomotives are part of the Livingston helper pool, while the two rear units are the assigned LAUBOZ power that day.

Hippo feeding on grass in the Chobe river. The oxpecker birds are doing him a great favour as they feed on the ticks and the parasites and they can also be a useful alarm for any potential threats.

This little chap decided to watch me taking part in doing a 24 hour Common Guillemot Feeding watch. This is where I monitor the colony, counting the chicks every 20 minutes, recording the times each bird comes back with the fish, The Identity and the size of the fish in relationship to its bill length.
We even recorded any other notes such a chick predation and any chicks that fledge.

Anyone else finding their butterfly bush leaves all chewed up like this... and I never see any insects!! Do they come out at night to party??!!

A helper set tacks onto the rear of C784 at East Grafton. Manned helpers are becoming more and more rare in this era of distributed power, but on grades as severe as those on the Mountain Sub the extra push from these helpers is irreplaceable.
Conrail EMD SD40 Nos. 6280 and 6277 helper locomotives are on the rear of an eastbound freight, assisting with braking on the Allegheny Mountains crossing west of Altoona, Pennsylvania, on October 21, 1988. The train is rolling through famous Horseshoe Curve, and besides helping the train downgrade, it’s a convenient way to get the helper units back to Altoona for another push.

Here the baby squirrel has one of its feet stuck between two branches and was just hanging there! I felt bad for it and wanted to help but mama squirrel was right there! After about a minute it freed itself and even grabbed onto the tree so it didn't fall! It was amazing to watch and I guess that is how they learn! :-)
A Montana Rail Link helper set is on the point of a Burlington Northern Santa Fe intermodal train heading upgrade over Mullan Pass west of Helena, Montana, on July 1, 2001. The train is crossing curve Austin Creek Trestle just west of Skyline siding.

Denver and Rio Grande Western GP40 No. 3083 is the east unit on a helper set at Minturn, Colorado, in July 1984. Behind No. 3083 is a GP40-2, a SD40T-2, a SD45, and two more SD40T-2s. One track over in front of Minturn’s small enginehouse is GP35 No. 3043. These large helper sets were used on the steep 3-percent eastward grade up Tennessee Pass out of the crew change town of Minturn.
