The end of Expo Latino weekend, now it's time to take a look through tons of photos! About 2500 photos in total, pretty typical for a festival weekend...

"the help" .... ... yesterday Baby Jesus was born, for those who are Christians this represents an immense act of God's love for his children ... and it is to that God-Man that we often resort to asking for help .... who among us ... has never needed help ...?! .....
I photographed people I had never met before, I thank them for their sympathy and availability: I met Antonio and his girlfriend, who came to Taormina to spend the last day together, the next day Antonio will leave to go very far, unfortunately leaving his beloved, to see her again who knows when ... I met the Japanese companion of my dear friend Cesare, who flew to the sky many years ago, I knew about his companion, but I had never met her before ... I photographed a sweet Chinese girl that I met on three different occasions, each time with a little more confidence….
these are just a few minimal photographic stories, collected walking down the street ... in search of fleeting moments ...
For some photographs I used a particular photographic technique at the time of shooting, which in addition to capturing the surrounding space, also "inserted" a temporal dimension, with photos characterized by being moved (confused-blurred-imprecise-undecided) ... the Anglo-Saxon term that encloses this photographic genre with a single word is "blur", these images were thus made during the shooting phase, deliberately lengthening the exposure times, and not as an effect created later, in retrospect, in the post phase -production.

Help me
I think I'm falling
In love again
When I get that crazy feeling
I know I'm in trouble again
I'm in trouble
'Cause you're a rambler and a gambler
And a sweet talking ladies man
And you love your lovin'
But not like you love your freedom
Help me
I think I'm falling
In love too fast
It's got me hoping for the future
And worrying about the past
'Cause I've seen some hot, hot blazes
Come down to smoke and ash
We love our lovin'
But not like we love our freedom

This is the next frame of a previously posted slide. I got a new scanner, and am taking it on a test run. The new scanner is a (true) 4000dpi, so I decided to post a larger scan....
SP262 was the lead locomotive on one of first 2x2 DPU eastbound trains up Tennessee Pass. The heavy coal load rated one less motor 2 on head-end vs the normal 3. There is still a 4 locomotive manned helper cut in as the swing (8 units total). This configuration became more common at the end of 1996, with the UP reverting mostly back to 9 units in 1997. The train is near the top of the longest sustained section of 3% on Tennessee Pass (From 150 feet east of the locomotive to east Pando)...
Note SP221 is the second motor :)

After all my pictures in Armidi, i deserved something nice : and what could be better than a Paper Couture session (to buy the last three things i had not already in my inventory, like a bag for instance)?… But when i left the Lu sisters’ store, one of these sticky insects called paparazzi pounced on me and tried to steal my face for a terrible gossipy and filthy magazine I’m sure (I love these crappy papers, but not when I’m in cover !) !... Oh my god ! What will happen to me when I’ll be famous ? !
"Sometimes I just need a little help
Why do I try to take the world all by myself
I'm asking you please, a little help
Tell me you'll be there when I need somebody else
I need help!"...
There. I had to say it before someone else did... and I know someone will. I had to do it. Sometimes I have ideas that I can't let go. I'm not saying that they are good ideas... I'm just saying that I have to follow through with them (because I have priorities, you know. And they aren't good ones either). My Christmas shopping isn't done... barely started. The few gifts that I have purchased, aren't wrapped... and I am not sure if I will even remember the "safe places" where I hid them. But this... this is what I needed to do on my very last weekend day off of 2020. I'm not disappointed. Actually, I'm pretty pleased.
I dedicate this to all of my photography friends... the ones that still invite me to shoot with them, knowing that I am almost never available to join them on their weekend adventures, but they still ask... or they make time to include me on a week day... and then they put up with me losing my glasses, forgetting where I laid my remote shutter release down, carrying a vase of fresh flowers while climbing through windows, forget my flashlight, forget my memory card, have a dead camera battery, watch me pull clown costumes out of my bag of props... or better yet, pull out their own clown costumes and join me in photos... and let's not even mention my extreme lack of any sense of direction (Do you have any idea where we are? Because I don't. How do I get back to the room with the _____ ? What door did we come in? How do we get out?) These people encourage me, inspire me, make me laugh, teach me things, make me think, make me wonder, give me hope, make me want to be better and basically... just keep me going. These people, that others warn me about... the ones that I meet in abandoned buildings, or online... are simply the best of the best. Thank you for including me in your lives. (And yes... I stood on this bridge, dressed like this ,alone, in broad daylight, with cars going by (probably because you gave me the courage to do this... so, let's all say it together.... I NEED HELP!!)
