Is this glue original and has just bled out from under her scalp over the years, or has her head been opened in the past and scalp stuck back on? Any help would be appreciated! :)

Please help me identify this little guy. I think he was about two inches long and about 1/2 inch wide. He was burrowing into the trail between Cloudy Pass and the PCT/Miners Ridge cut off. I'd never seen one before and figured I'd get a shot.
