Please tell me it's something more interesting than the immature white-crowned I suspect it of being, please!

Dear little Primrose was helping me pick up the last of the windfalls yesterday.
It has been such a bumper harvest year for the apple tree that I am delighted to get all the help I can!

Tree mushroom in Toronto
Mushrooms are actually the fruiting body of a fungus and late-warning signs that a tree is unwell. By the time there is a mushroom on the bark of the tree, the fungus has already built a network inside and is in the process of consuming the tree from within. Who is asking for help?
I could hear the crackle of fire around the hedgerow. I could smell the smoke, I didn't like it. I coughed. My first day out of trainin was off to a bad start. We passed the hedgerow and I saw the tank. It was an American tank, looked like a medium. I don't know though, I'm not familiar with their tanks. We walked from one side to the back, inspecting the damage. The engine exploded. Then I heard a cough and a groan from the other side. I was caught off guard, I jumped a little. I gripped my rifle and peeked around the tank. It was an American tanker, probably 18, on the ground propped against the tank. He didn't look so good, his arm was covered in blood. Then he turned and looked at me and my comrad. He had a big gash on his forehead, brain exposed. I could tell that he was in pain, the look of despair in his eyes - it just got to me. I almost cried. He moved his other arm slowely. He made a motion as he wanted me to go over to him. I slowely walked to him, he whispered, "Come closer." I put my head next to his, he raises his arm, turns my head so my ear was next to his mouth. I felt the blood hit my face when he whispered. His breathing was very heavy. He said, in a faint whimper, "We may be enemies, but please, help me out."
I shook my head, "What do you need?", in my best English. He calmly said, "Kill me."
The helpers from East Bernstadt roll north to meet S539 at Perth, where they will hook onto the rear of the train to shove over Crooked Hill.
A fresh Southern Heritage Unit leads ethanol loads east under the C&NW coaling tower. A nice sucker hole of light helped with the scene.
"Thriller" by Michael Jackson <3 ...
"Darkness falls across the land
The midnight hour is close at hand
Creatures crawl in search of blood
To terrorize y'awl's neighborhood
And whosoever shall be found
Without the soul for getting down
Must stand and face the hounds of hell
And rot inside a corpse's shell
The foulest stench is in the air
The funk of forty thousand years
And grizzly ghouls from every tomb
Are closing in to seal your doom
And though you fight to stay alive
Your body starts to shiver
For no mere mortal can resist
The evil of the thriller"

Typically, when I post a photo, it’s my own work, and the only description is the lyrics of a song that sparked the idea in my mind. But this picture is different. This was taken by Ari Gunner, who, without hesitation or expectation, offered to help me with my first store simply because she wanted to see me succeed. That simple act of kindness perfectly sums up who Ari was—not just in that moment, but in every moment I was lucky enough to share with her.
She wasn’t just a friend; she was the closest thing I ever had to a mother, both in SL and RL. She was there for me in ways that no one else was, without question, without obligation—just pure, unwavering support. She took care of me when she didn’t have to, when the world felt heavy, and when I felt alone.
I will carry her kindness, her love, and her generosity with me for the rest of my life. She gave so much and asked for nothing in return. That is the kind of love that never fades, and I will never forget her.
Experimental ! never used the video on my D7000, don't know much about it either, worth a try ;-)). Great old track from the Beatles
The two C424m’s that served as as helpers from Hornell are now leading the Delaware & Hudson salt train over the Genesee & Wyoming at Griegsville, New York. NOTE: My slide is labeled as being at Griegsville, but I can’t find anything that resembles this scene on Google maps. Pleae let me know if this is another location.
Amtrak 153 heads south into its station stop at Ashland behind a visiting engine from NS. The previous day's train 84 from Norfolk hit a substantial downed tree on the way north, causing significant damage that warranted the replacement engine. As is the tradition for these power swaps, the borrowed engine led a train back to home rails the next day.

This Fall and Winter as I visited the Lake I have shoot some of these rare kinds which I will be sharing in the next two or three days, some of them I can name, some I can't.
Taken last Monday when the weather was so gorgeous and few of the rare kinds of ducks are in the Lake. I waited and chased this guy until I got a good shot of it.
We have 9 different species of hawks in Minnesota. A few of them look very similar to the eye of a layman.
It helps me when they have at least one very distinguishing feature, like this red-tailed hawk.

Help with ID appreciated, thought it may be Xysticus cristatus. Taken at Oxwich, Gower, Wales, UK. No graphics please.
Rather than cause anxiety, the presence of many boxes as I pack up in preparation for our move next week has proven to be a delight for Sundae and Pearl, in particular.
From a feline point of view, one can never have too many boxes!
