Short SC-5 Belfast C1

G-HLFT (cn SH1819)

Built 1964 and delivered to the RAF, UK - Air Force, now with HeavyLift Cargo Airlines.

Photographed at Glasgow - International (Abbotsinch) (GLA / EGPF)

UK - Scotland.

Painted in Heavy Lift Airlines colour scheme at Cosford on 2nd May 1987. Later repainted into RAF colours.

KOREX SPB No.2 vertrok uit Rotterdam met twee ECT kranen naar Vuzhne Ukraine.

Previously PH-BDS & N529PR. It later became N727WF, PR-ADF & 5N-OTT.

This happened today in the neighborhood.

Heard something big fly by and saw this guy flying over an intersection off Diversey. Police had closed the street but you could get plenty close, trust me. After a few shots, I scooted around the back alley. A spotter with a headset was there to lend another viewpoint. Never heard him speak.

This pilot totally nailed it, moving 8 A/C units and a ton of other gear to the top of the building. Great ground crew made the turnarounds super fast. Amazing

Album Dublin pre digital. / cargo aircraft.

Shorts Belfast 'G-HLFT' departs a Dublin on a dismal December day.

Scan from a slide. Dublin 1996.

Visited Geneva to transport dismantled Learjet 31 prototype N311DF, which suffered a landing accident at Les Eplatures (LSGC) during a demo flight one year earlier. The Skymonster is stored at Bournemouth since many years, still worked on, then it will be great to see again this magnificent aircraft again in the air!

Circa 1963, Port Line's 'Port Townsville' in the Royal Docks, London, England.

The ship was a refrigerated cargo carrier.

A 'Heavy' Lift, of 28 tons; more bulky than heavy, however, it's being loaded into the ship's No.2 hold, starboard side.

From the collection of the late, Blue Star Line Captain John Charles 'Gaucho' Davis (1922-1993) RIP, who, I am informed, was the London Docks cargo superintendent at this time.

Ship's details:

Launched on 21/06/1951, & completed on 23/10/1951 by Swan, Hunter & Wigham Richardson, Wallsend, England (1809)

8,070 g.t. & 10,360 dwt., as:

'Port Townsville' until sold to Spain for demolition.

Arrived at Castellon during July 1972.
