An early morning Headsup from Flump and call from DW, left me with little option to grab my camera and head to Leicester with mum and dad. An awfully foggy day left me wondering but all ended up well.

Approaching Leicester p3 (booked p4) is 56302 with 56094, 50050, 50017 and 56113 at the tail. The working, 09:15 0z56 is Washwood Heath to Washwood Heath via Stenson Junction, Leicester and Nuneaton

Heads up by Steve Croquett. These striking head sculptures were one of the centre pieces of the display at Tamarama Beach. Shot this just after a sunrise.

Heads up, girlie.

The 15th annual Sculpture by the Sea outdoor art show has begun on Sydney's coastline between Bondi and Bronte. Works by over 100 artists from around the world are on display along the sandstone cliffs of the Pacific coast until November 20.

NS Local 15T has just made a setout in Waynesboro yard and is now at DuPont siding and will make a pickup. Thanks to Steve Bauer for the headsup on this guy.

LIGHTNING

Thanks Roel Santiago and Mike Santos for the headsup. The lightning storm was ending by the time I got to shoot it. An hour before this it was fantastic and at least every 2 minutes you got great strikes.

playing heads up.

66762 (GBRF) "t&t" 104 (DBC).

6L37 : 0954 Hoo Jn Up Yd - Whitemoor Up Yd (1e MLA).

Bayford - 1316 - 20/12/19.

Thanks to Ian at the "Hill" for the headsup on this working. I assume the MLA had defective brakes, which is why it has "Sheds" on both sides (104 for brakeforce), but why it wasn't marshalled in another 6L37 earlier this week, rather than run it on it's own, is anybodies guess!

Nice to see 387101 being used instead of the Royal Train, to convey the Queen from London Kings Cross to Kings Lynn today!

This is the closest call I have ever seen in eight years of rocketry.

When the yellow two-stage rocket was coming in ballistic, the LCO announcer sounded out the “heads up” alarm across the playa. The fellow on the right was biking on the playa behind the flight line and slowed down to look up, and by an incredible stroke of freak alignment, the rocket struck the exposed portion of his rear wheel, as he was biking!

He described it as a silent event; he was perplexed to feel himself leaning backward as the rear end of the bike collapsed.

It was a borrowed bike, but wow, what a souvenir!

(P.S. and lest anyone conclude that this is a dangerous activity, please keep in mind that it’s much safer than golf =)

Air India 787-8 Dreamliner on short final at O'Hare. First time I've ever seen on of these. Thanks Roger for the Headsup!

Methinks I'm at the wrong bridge - just look at the light at Hollis Road footbridge !! GBRF's 66792 'Collaboration' pictured at Grovefield Way, Cheltenham when working the diverted 6O01 1018 from Scunthorpe Trent T.C. to Eastleigh East Yard. My thanks to Roger C. for the headsup re todays move which was showing as cancelled on RTT. 11th May 2023.

Just a little headsup to those of you who couldn't make it to L-Doll. I recently had a wonderful chance to work with the lovely Mishi's Doll ( www.facebook.com/mishisdoll/) and made some wigs for their full set dolls. They are absolutely precious little sculpts in person so I highly recommend going to have a peek over on their FB as there are a limited few available. There are also just a couple of blank dolls left as well.

NET 204 passes over the viaduct at Middle Hill on the last day this viewpoint was available, from the top of the doomed Broadmarsh car park. Many thanks to Jason Cross for the headsup on the impending closure.. Taken with a pole to get the running gear clear of the fence.

This was going to be a play on light with some added colour but i pressed the colorize button instead of preview and this was the result, it was quite a coincidence the light was in the right place to look like an old glossy photograph! Wish it wasn't so grainy but hey ho, im too tired to take it again. Unfortunitely i had to cancel this saturdays meetup due to a variety of factors, (long story) but i plan on rescheduling it as it would be cool to meet up with the girls and guys of flickr! Ill keep you posted, and a headsup im away again this weekend so i may not upload until monday! Don't worry im not going anywhere!

306 went by, then the dispatcher told them they were holding for maintenance in the way for about an hour. It was then time to head for home. This is from the IN49 overpass at Nickel, Valparaiso, Indiana. Big thanks to Kent Nelson for the early headsup on her.

When they come in hot, you hear the sonic boom after it hits.

I spent much of this weekend tracking incoming rockets or pieces of rockets. Most common cause of lawn dart failures is a lack of chute deployment at apogee. Second most: fin shreds at Mach 1 or 2, which are spectacular to witness. Lastly, the unstable multi-stage pinwheels in the sky are the scariest, as they might ignite the second stage while the nose is pointing down, with the rocket screaming back at you under full thrust. I have done that at home, and it takes the cake for raising the pulse rate.

I saw a high power 2 stage rocket do such a pinwheel loop, but end up point straight up when the 2nd stage ignited. The cheers on the video are a real treat.

66784 "Keighley & Worth Valley Railway" t&t 776 "Joanne" - 6T72 (1700 TO STP Whitemoor Yd LDC - Rye House, which was formed of 30 Coalfish loaded with new ballast) - Hertford East (in possession & opposite the site of the site of the old signalbox) - c1030 - 12/04/22.

At the time of the photo, the train was being un-loaded by two road-rail diggers & this photo was possible without a pole, as the recently created pile (of ballast) had damaged the fence!

Thanks Darren for the headsup on this working.

United 777-300 on flight 2835, a positioning move, takes off of 22L at O'Hare for Houston. Thanks to Steve Bauer for the headsup. N2243U is the 1500th 777 built

...is what I was thinking as I stood there and snapped this shot. This is from Castaway Cay, Disney's private island in the Bahamas. I made it to this area before anyone, so I kind of had this whole area to myself. Pictured in the background is the bar - Heads Up.

Shame ACT's "Jumbo" (ER-BAJ) arrived at 0755, as I could have done a third consecutive trip to the Airport, if it had been 4 hours later & the mist / fog / low cloud cleared!
