Having been provided headsup from the east by Rich J, I checked the tracks while traveling between buildings/meetings and saw the original N&W leader coming under Mo Bottom road.
While I couldn't shoot my favorite Roberson location, I was able to grab shot of the train threading its way through the I-270 / Highway 370 interchange in Hazelwood.

387162, 387164 & 387147 are seen approaching Ashbury Crossing with a rare daylight move, 5P87 12:05 Reading Traincare Depot - Swindon Cocklebury.
Thanks to Darren Ford for the headsup and slowing down for me to enable the freight train in the distance to pass. The man himself can be seen waving as he passes. Proof he does work, sometimes.
Timing worked out for me to catch the CSX OCS at Berea on May 28, 2015 on the way to catch a flight at the nearby Hopkins airport. Classy train and i was glad it worked out. Thanks to the NE Ohio network for the headsup ( you know who you are).
Once again, I got word of some re-routes from the Hannibal/Springfield District, including a 255. Since Roadrailers are becoming somewhat rare with only two trains in service and none usually passing through St. Louis, I found a way to sneak away from work for a bit and catch this westbound running past the Searchlights at Ferguson. Not even the very steady rain coming down at the time deterred me!
This would come almost 7 months to the day after I had caught an Eastbound Triple Crown re-route earlier this year. Thanks to Adam and Rich and Robbie for the headsup that this guy was headed my way!

NS 112 heads into the siding at Ferguson to meet 2 eastbounds that had been holding the main for about 2 hours waiting for him to get out of Luther.
Thanks to a headsup from Kelby and also help from Daniel and Evan with tracking, I was finally able to catch one of these guys leading! They've only been around for what? 12 years or so...Like this 112, I guess I'm also lagging a bit.

37510 - 5Q48 (1413 FO STP Bounds Green T&RSMD - Norwich Crown Point T&RSMD, which was formed of Greater Anglia bi-mode unit 755338) - Bayford - 1602 (88 minutes late after a 92 late start & with a nice bit of thrash, despite only being three minutes behind the "stopper") - 21/04/23.
A massive thanks to Darren (that's twice now with Orion) for the headsup on this working, as without your text I would have been no the wiser & assumed it was just the unit running late!
While the lighting conditions were poor a very last second decision to go and get these got me to Hammond-Whiting with probably less then 2 minutes to spare. The sight of this train is always great but the sound was nothing short of awesome as he accelerated after coming through the reverse curve beyond the signal bridge. Thanks to the Wagonmaster, Mike Raia and Joe Z. for the headsup.

The seldom seen Metra F59 98 and sister 97 made a test run on the Elgin Sub today. After a few false starts they are seen zipping by the Mannheim Stop in Franklin Park. I guess they only made to Bensenville and turned back. Thanks Mark Llanuza for the headsup!

Ah, springtime and longer days, when the 8-5 guys can still slide out to get a stab at cool weekday things. Thanks to the headsup from RI4310 & K-Man, I was able to bolt home, grab the kids, and get back to business for this puppy. anyone who knows me on here will know iv been dying to see a kingfisher for ages and had only managed to spot blue flashes up till now!
Then ‘Chris McLoughlin’ got in touch and said he was going to see the kingfisher on saturday so me and ‘Andrew Rickman’ went down to meet him and there we met up with ‘Moonrhino’ and ‘bojangles_1953’ there too! (a reeet little flickr gathering!)
and i saw him!!!
he wasn’t very near, the light was a bit hit and miss, i was using autofocus and due to reeds and branches in the foreground the lens was hunting a lot, and the iso was through the roof - but I SAW HIM!!!
isn’t he beautiful?
thanks chris for the heads up! and lovely to meet both you, and bojangles_1953, for the first time!

A big thanks for the headsup on this working, as it didn't report on FR24 & was showing as "Blocked" on Radarbox, but was visible on ADSB during it's flight & to "she who must be obeyed" (my Sister) for changing our lunch plans!

The CofG Heritage Unit and 224 went into the siding at High Hill where it would wait to meet an eastbound. While the sun was still pretty high, the pair of Searchlights at the east end of the siding with the train going in was still a pretty nice catch.

Thanks to Ian at the "Hill" for the headsup on this working. I assume the MLA had defective brakes, which is why it has "Sheds" on both sides (104 for brakeforce), but why it wasn't marshalled in another 6L37 earlier this week, rather than run it on it's own, is anybodies guess!

This picture is a bit of a change of pace for me, but thought it would be a fun shot to post... My son certainly got a kick out of it, especially since he's the one who "pinged" me w/ the ball.
I knew he must have felt bad about it, since It only took him about a minute or two to finally stop laughing after it happened. ;) Guess I deserved it, as I was the interloper getting in the way of his ping pong match.
Fortunately (for me) no lenses were harmed in the making of this picture! ;)

Another photo that has been viewed many times. Once again the only thing I can figure is it is because of the title Duck and Dog. This is a shot of Shuttle and Arson at Mace's Ranch neighbors we met when we first moved to the area under less than ideal conditions. They had found Shuttle on the highway (a run away trying to ensure I didn't leave her behind at some strange place aka our new home).
More sun shots of Head's Up! Poppy to show off the wonderful Isabelle necklace (www.etsy.com/shop/IsabelleParisJewels)! This time in the full Lime Time outfit and hanging with her BFF Ice Blue Poppy.
NS 201 climbs out a dip and curve as it comes into Crimora VA. Thanks again for the headsup to Steve Bauer. Got him with about 2 minutes to spare!
Do you see that bird in the heat above the engine? Perhaps they do that to get warm? Seems to me that would be TOO warm. Isnt the exhaust from an engine really hot? Maybe its an optical illusion and the bird really isn't in the heat? I have no idea what I am seeing here. Just seems very hot to me.
Anyway, I met my dad at this location along the Rock River in Oregon, Illinois a couple weekend ago. Timing couldn't be better. I arrived, then my dad arrived about 3 minutes later, and after checking with the Trainut, found out a westbound was 10 minutes away.
We set up our tripods side by side and soon after could hear the blast of the distant train horn. A few more test shots and we were ready.
And there it was. The train. It's headlights leading the way into our photo op. We both started snapping frame after frame as the train crossed the bridge.
Anyone who knows me and/or my dad knows that he is the true rail fan. At 86 years old, his passion for trains and the stories are endless. I grew up in the shadow of that passion along with his passion for photography. It was such a keepsake moment for me to share this time with him. And even though I have photographed trains on this bridge in the past, I never photographed trains on this bridge with my dad. I dedicate this shot to my dad and to the memory of this day.
A big thank you to Clarke for the headsup about the train.
