Stumbled across this one whilst browsing through some albums on the PC. Shades of Vauxhall Victor FE in those headlamps?

Continuous sunny weather has been detrimental to shooting landscapes, but I managed to find this locomotive hiding in the shade
For a shorter 30 minute drive this outdoor rustic prairie museum destination is a favorite, I wanted to post each as individual images, but then decided a triptych version in one pano would kill three birds. I apologize for the width at 4500 pixels, but do view large if possible. I chatted with the land owner who inherited this collection, sadly he is slowly cleaning up this scattering of metal, wood, artifacts and glass, moving the junkers to reclamation vendors for a neater property. Its been a photographic blast.
I choose the title not because I thought the scene an eye sore, but I'm always bemused at headlights gone missing on rustic old vehicles, the appearance of a shiny socket always reminds me of the eye's anatomy.

The Feathers at Frenchman Coulee near Vantage, Washington. One of the most popular rock climbing areas in the state.
I sat near here for a couple of hours. The stars were amazing. They make me feel so small, and insignificant -- but not in a bad way.
I used my headlamp to brighten some areas of the rock in this shot.

using a borrowed Sony a7s I was able to reduce the shutter speed so there is little blur in the stars helping to make this one crisp. I added the headlamp becasue it looks really cool!

The headlamps are set and the driver peers over the side of 7F 0-8-0 49063 as the loco is about to move out of Aston shed. To the right is an unidentified Stanier Black 5. The shed occupied a cramped position with running lines on the right, Long Acre (with the houses) behind and Holborn Hill to the left, Most recently the site has been a bus depot.
49063 was a G2A based on a Bowen-Cooke design but introduced into traffic 1936 - 1946*, this loco was withdrawn in June 1959 and was an Aston resident at the time of this picture.
*As often happens there is a conflict between info on the internet and written work on this loco.

I decided that I would try and hike to St. Marks Summit for sunset tonight. It was a pretty nice hike with some cool stops/views along the way. I was fortunate enough to get some really awesome cloud formations, although I never really got a colourful light show. I’m going to try again for sure ;-).
Trekking down in the dark was a little sketchy, but not too bad. I had my headlamp on, but there were some slippery tree roots for the first half way down. You’d think that going up would take longer but this was not at all the case. I’d estimate that it took 15-20 minutes longer on the way down.
