I could hear the singing but when I spotted the bird I realized it was a female. Perhaps the male was hidden still.

This big and colourful bird are quite, secretive, and usually occurs in small numbers. Seen in ones or twos at the edge of swamps, lakes, old mining pools and sometimes, fish ponds. In this picture, i am so lucky because i got three in one frame. This species prefers ares covered with water hyacinth and water lilies on which it can walk on it when feeding.
The Red-headed Woodpecker is an unmistakable species of southeastern North America, mainly in the USA. The sexes are similar. This bird was seen in Rondeau Provincial Park, Ontario, Canada.
Worm's Head is a headland, at Rhossili, part of the City and County of Swansea, Wales. It is the furthest westerly point of the Gower Peninsula. The name Worm's Head is derived from an Old English word 'wyrm' for 'sea serpent'.
This folks will end this Red Head series, although there are so many more really nice images, but I think it's enough for now anyways, we'll see in the future.

Amazingly many of these Snow geese flying right at me ended up in focus and the hat on my head remained clean. One of my compadres was not so lucky so we all shared a laugh as well.
I was able to get the Nuthatch off the feeder today - He actually stayed on the branch for some time. Probably was making up for yesterday!

I’m already working on modding the new cyclops that JUST came out from ferocious muffin. The head is mod, unrigged, the ears can be selected and turned transparent, there are cute expressions, it blinks, and so many other things. It was an insta-buy after I saw it. It also has an applier kit and uv stuff with it. So easy :D
Red-Headed Woodpecker.
A 10 inch long bird. Whole head is red, wings and tail bluish-black which a large white patch on each wing, white underparts and white rump. It is conspicuous in flight. Immature resembles adult but has a brown head, 2 dark bars on white ring patch.
Their habitat consists of open-county, farms, rural roads, open park-like woodland, and golf-courses.
They range from Saskatchewan to Quebec in Canada south to the Gulf Coast and Florida. They are scarce in the northeastern U.S. states. They winter mainly in the southern part of their range.

While the family were over we got out and about a fair bit. This photo was taken from Onchan Head across the other side of the bay from the lighthouse. This gull appeared recently on the scene at Quidi Vidi Lake sporting full breeding plumage, far more advanced than our few overwintering black-headeds. Likely a recent arrival from the south.
