another door.
My own naiveté let me down. I was drinking coffee and people watching when this bloke came by and started asking about my day. He eventually noticed the camera on the table and asked if he could pose for me. I didn’t think much of it, but later on when editing the photo I looked up the hand signs he was throwing.

Well, my sweet Déjà left for Illinois Doberman Rescue this past Saturday, 1/3/09. I HATED to see her go, but I know she will get the best medical treatment for her heartworms there, and will eventually find the perfect home. Melanie, who transported Déjà and a bunch of other dogs, told me that poor Déjà was pathetically howling for most of the trip. My poor girl. I know she loved me just as much as I loved her. Immediately after they left I realized that I had forgotten to send along Déjà’s Cranky Kitty and her rubber doggy that she loved so much! I was SO mad at myself! But I’m making up a care package, which will include her toys and her big juicy bone that she never got to finish while she was here, and will mail it to Pam, Déjà’s new foster mom.
I don’t want to forget little Uno either… he went along on Saturday and is now at Rover Rescue. I got the nicest email from his new foster mom already, letting me know that Uno is doing really well and getting along with her own Labrador retriever.
Déjà started her heartworm treatment yesterday. She’ll require several injections and will have to be kept very calm and quiet afterwards. Of course I’ll update you all once I get some more info from Pam. In the meanwhile, this is just a gentle reminder to please donate to Illinois Doberman Rescue if you can. November 22, 2022 - New York City - Governor Kathy Hochul, joined by Acting New York State Police Superintendent Steven A. Nigrelli, DHSES Commissioner Jackie Bray and state leaders, signs two Hate Crime Prevention Bills into law Tuesday November 22, 2022. The two bills she signed will require people convicted of hate crimes to undergo mandatory training in hate crime prevention and establish a statewide educational awareness campaign "around inclusion, tolerance, understanding and diversity.”.
