Mum called the other day, and told me how people have pestered her and dad about the photos I've posted (here and on my Facebook account): the make up and androgyny doesn't sit well with people back home. She went on to ask me to stop photographing myself and find models instead. Almost a year ago, all she said was how lovely my photos are.
I'm sorry Ma, but I can't let haters snuff my love for creating. It's one of the few things that keeps me sane and happy amongst the death and illness at work.
Several thousand people marched through the Greenwich Village section of New York City on Monday May 20 to protest the shooting death two days earlier of a gay man in what police describe as a hate crime. The victim, 32-year-old Mark Carson, died Saturday night after being shot in the head on a busy Village street corner by a man shouting anti-gay slurs. It it the latest and most serious of a string of apparent bias attacks on presumed homosexuals in the heavily gay and lesbian neighborhood. Politicians and community activists called for expanded police patrols and stronger enforcement of hate crime laws at a rally after the march. Gay rights activists say homophobic violence has increased in many parts of the country in response to campaigns for full civil and legal rights.
Yeah, I've seen several people do the "Love" cards, which I thought was pretty cool, but I wanted to do something a little different.

My wife said she ordered Girl Scout cookies and a few days ago she said she picked them up. I was all excited like a kid on Christmas day. The next morning, I went searching for them to take with me, but could not find them. I knew she loved her cookies too, but she wouldn't hide them from her husband.....would she? They were no where to be found.
Well i finally found them (she gave in and showed me where they were). Boy are they delicious. Can't. stop. eating.
THANK YOU GIRL SCOUTS FOR YOUR SERVICE TO THE WORLD AND AMAZING COOKIES.

I hate flying. But I haven't always hated it. I've been flying since before I could walk. My father worked for the airline and even had his own small Cessna plane. We flew his Cessna almost every wekend, flying over Disneyland, Knotts Berry Farm and all the attractions that would make a child stare in aw. I used to sit in the front seat, take over the controls and put my brothers in tears as I made the plane go buck wild in the air. I had no fear. But for some reason, as an adult I have the worst fear of this same aircraft. I hate it.
On the 75th anniversary of the liberation of the Auschwitz concentration camp, Jan. 27, 2020, MTA Chairman and CEO Patrick J. Foye announced that the authority is launching a sweeping public messaging campaign aimed at combating hate crimes. Messages promoting kindness, respect and solidarity are appearing starting today on thousands of digital screens across the region’s subways buses and commuter railroads. I've been staying away from the entire club scene lately... too much drama and I got tired of being the punching bag for other people's wars.
So, I build... and build and build. That's all I've been doing... working on the regions and the mainland and filling the bakery with little love cakes.
I was so angry that I felt it taking over the emotions. Not good... not a healthy feeling.
Artist Cienega Soon sent out a shout in The A List! for her moving show at Uqbar, Area media art culture.. It was only on display for 3-days. Walking into the place just jolted me. "Rancor" was riveting and timely for my ugly emotions.
Forgiveness, love is the theme. No rancor, for it will destroy your inner being, your core, your self. The show was a visualization of all my emotions.
Thank you Cienega... I needed the cold, splash of water in my face. Then, after I headed for the spiritual place at GOD, Garden of Dreams for a meditative silence next to the river. There, I found my peace.
- first catch your breath:
kicked out the colors-no begging
told clarity to shut the fuck up
the light never agrees with me anyways
and focus never cared in the first place
pick your battles, kid.
I really do...I hate the getting up, the cold mornings, the rushing to get to work, the beginning of five more days of stress...
This is actually an outtake from a dress rehearsal I shot this weekend. You can check out the play Our Bad Magnet this weekend. It's amazing when such talented people are also really sweet.
i hate how my eyes look. but i'm very happy with the lens flare. :)

EDIT: this picture got almost 100 views in less than a day! that's pretty cool considering my pictures don't get that many views. :)
I hate Summer. It is summer and I am panicky and frenzy. The sun has returned once AGAIN, and I cannot seem to adjust to this weather— like always. The outdoor barbeques, pool parties, lawn get-togethers, strappy clothes, quirky sandals, big-ass hats and, not to forget oversized sunglasses—I hate it.

Some educators hate to see the school year end. Dressed in his pajamas, Principal Brian Crook waves to students as they leave Studebaker Elementary School. As a PTO fundraiser, Crook agreed to sleep on the school's roof for the night.
